Go for it, Art! Rob Thanks, Ghost. My mod abilities only allow me to move threads between existing forums. Steam's the man for organizing the board forums, so lets give him a chance to mull it over and see what he thinks about the organizing.

My mod abilities only allow me to move threads between existing forums. Are you sure? You and TK are Global Moderators! Is this a Union thing? ----- We have "Bluesmobile Props", and " Movie Props / Stuff For Sale". It's actually "Movie Props Info / For Sale" That sounds like "Movie Props Info" Good point. I moved that one to "Movie Props Info / For Sale" Tough call on this one. We do see Elwood hand over a drivers license, we never actually see the license. The prop comes from BB Private. I think it's more of a movie prop than a Blumo prop. This I think would be more a Blumo prop than a movie prop and should be moved into the "Bluesmobile Props" thread. That's definitely "Movie Props Info" ----- I like the idea of specifying if a prop is for sale or free. So "FS:" is the prefix for a for sale item, is "FD:" the prefix for a free download?

My mod abilities only allow me to move threads between existing forums. Are you sure? You and TK are Global Moderators! Is this a Union thing? Yes, I needed your help when I wanted the "Bluesmobile Rumors" subforum created. > Global Moderator ... unlike Administrators, they don't have the authority to change forum settings or forum design elements. www.proboards.com/forum-help-guide/create-forum-member-groupsThis I think would be more a Blumo prop than a movie prop and should be moved into the "Bluesmobile Props" thread. I propose that we make the sight friendly enough for people to navigate even if they're not a movie expert about what props were found in the blumo. So if someone is looking for a chesterfield cigarette prop, and their friend remembers a scene in the movie where John Belushi flashed a chesterfield pack: and says "go to bluesmobile.proboards.com and look for that prop there", the person doesn't need to first watch the entire movie, determine that the prop was in the bluesmobile, and then go to the blumo prop forum. I think they should just be able to go the prop forum, and then see chesterfield. So with the current setup, we have: Movie Props Info / For SaleI don't know that "Info / For Sale" adds any value. We could call it: Movie Propsbut then people won't know that blumo props aren't in their. We could call it: non-blumo related Movie Propsbut that doesn't seem right either, because it has Lloyd's road map concept. So we could call it Movie Props other than those that were actually found in the blumo in the movieIt just seems confusing to me to have two different prop forums, in different forums on the board, with names that don't describe clearly describe what goes in them. I like the idea of specifying if a prop is for sale or free. So "FS:" is the prefix for a for sale item, is "FD:" the prefix for a free download? That sounds good. What about a prefix for "as seen in the movie" vs. "fantasy item - not seen in the movie". I like Ghost's suggested naming format, but it would be more compact with standardized prefixes. > [example naming format] > Epoxy glue label (as seen in the movie) - FREE DOWNLOAD > Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker (fantasy item - not seen in movie) - FOR SALE

Regarding all these kitchen unit spams, do we have CAPTCHAs turned on for our registration process? I see here: www.forum-software.org/proboards/reviewthat there is a feature where we can increase the complexity of CAPTCHAs. What's our current complexity setting? Is the feature enabled? I see here: nfafootballny.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=registera proboards website that has CAPTCHA turned on: but when I tried it on ours I didn't get a CAPTCHA: at least on that page I didn't. I didn't continue. I don't think I can see the admin settings that control member registrations. Steam, can you play around with creating new accounts and seeing what's involved. If we don't have any CAPTCHA turned on, I think we should turn it on. If we do have it one, we might try cranking up the complexity. Or seeing if we can ask a question like: "what is 10 plus seven" or "what type of flightless bird did Jake visit after he got out of prison"

Did you mean, "I'd like ..." ? I'll tweak some stuff, see how it looks.

Did you mean, "I'd like ..." ? I'll tweak some stuff, see how it looks. lol I don't know Arthur.. I think theres a little too much micro managing going on with it all. I see the point in organizing some stuff, but also don't think we need 20 subforums on the home page either. Kinda makes it a little harder too find something/info your looking for, because your not exactly sure where to look. If ya know what I mean?... Just trying to keep it fun if you know what I mean. Some of the other forums I frequent, can be too moderated, and have to many rules, and such. Others are very open, and not so up tight. That makes them a lot more fun. Yes theres some off topic stuff in threads, but it makes it fun, and not like your going to school/work. Look at it like this. Were all a bunch of guys at the local pub hanging out and BS'n, having a good time... Just my $.02

Look at it like this. Were all a bunch of guys at the local pub hanging out and BS'n, having a good time... That's a fun environment, but I think that environment does not lend itself towards easily answering questions on the board. I think we should foster, not hinder, comments like this from new board members: You guys have one of the most organized boards I have ever been on! ... Set-up and the way members reference topics and posts -- you guys probably aced all your bibliography pages with the uber-neat way you cite info It's nice to see that as some forums I've been on need translators....for the English speakers! I've slowly grown weary of trying to answer questions that require finding info that I know is on the board, but difficult to locate due to board organization and searching not working. Did you mean, "I'd like ..." ? No, it's your board, and I'll work to fit within the board. I'll stop suggesting, and enjoy the local pub BS'n environment.

I don't typically poke my nose into "forum suggestions" but I feel I should add me $.02.
I totally enjoy the fun environment of the board. I also enjoy the way each of us can enjoy the spirit of the blues in our own ways and we respect one another for that. I'm sure many think I am going way overboard with my car, and I would agree, but its mine and I like it. I have gotten nothing but encouragment from the group no downers or hurtful critisim, constructive criticism is always welcome. Some of you guys do things differently than I would and have different goals and that's cool. I like to offer constructive criticism and suggestions on build threads simply because I am a car guy and have a fair amount of experience working on cars so maybe my experience can help someone out.
To Arthur's point, I think there is value in organization. When I started seriously reading up on Bluesmobiles in early 2011 I read and searched the BBC board endlessly. More recently I only look at the recently updated page. I rarely if ever look at the main home page. When I was a newbie I would have enjoyed the organization we currently have. There is also a ton of information on this board I have had no use for yet but plan to use it when my project reaches a point where that info is valuable to me. I can also appreciate Arthur's frustration in answering questions as many of us lean on him for information, I know I do. Recently, I am so sensitive of that I will frequently withhold my inquiries. As it pertains to the board, I admit there is a lot of information here I couldn't care less about, a lot of the police and chp info is great info but I personally don't value it as much as the Bluesmobile specific information. Fortunately for us Arthur has become an expert on the Blues Brothers movie and the Bluesmobile and 1974-1977 Dodge Monacos, maybe this is not so fortunate for Arthur as he feels the weight of being the go to guy when questions arise.
Bottom line is, if someone has a particular feeling for the way info should be organized, more power to him. If I am looking for info, I use the search function, I never just browse around for info. My biggest fear is that something happens to this board and all the info is lost, that would be a tragedy.

- I think one of the main reasons we get compliments about the site info is due in large part to Arthur's suggestions, the majority of which I've implemented. To be honest I feel we're in good shape with the amount of boards we have now. Everything seems to have a home and I'm reluctant to add more police specific boards lest we start looking like copcardotcom Jr.. I like the livery stuff but don't think it needs it's own board. We've got Monaco boards for "1974-1977 C-Body Monaco Details" and "Performance and Engineering Modifications" and "Monaco Maintenance" so I think adding another one for "74-77 c-body monaco engineering / technical / production info" is redundant. A board title can be tweaked to accommodate additional info. As for members asking questions, well I'm not the go-to guy for the technical stuff but if any members have questions about the site or where to find a certain thread etc., please direct those questions to me. I'm the friendliest sunofabitch you'll ever deal with, lol. If anyone has any problems or issues with the search feature, please let me know. I really appreciate any and all input. I've never considered this to be my site, it's actually Ghostman's and he said I could be admin until he finishes his Blumo, sooo ... I guess I'll have that title for awhile. Lol, love ribbin' ya, Ghost. Thanks, folks.

Jeezus H....at the rate I'm going, Steam, you'll retire as Administrator and start getting that monthly BlumoForum retirement check, to put towards your own Blumo project (which, I'll hazard, you'll finish even before I do my present one). It's all good, brothers ....I enjoy being ribbed (I would say "poked", but that doesn't sound right! ) Rob

- Arthur has removed all of his pictures from the site. I guess he won't be back. Just because I didn't add the extra subforums he wanted??? I dunno. I never got an e-mail or a pm from him so I don't really know what's going on.

I was gonna ask you what happened to him, Steam...I notice he hasn't been back on the site for a while. I guess he might have gotten mad during that last incident, and left the sandbox. I hate to see him go, as he was quite a guy, and handy, too....he knows a lot about The Car. Maybe he's decided to start his own Blumo reference sister-site on the web, or perhaps he's going to come back here at a later date with bigger and better things...anyhoo, as much as I'll miss him, we'll carry on. Your friend in wondering what the hell happened to Art, Rob

I have a suggestion for the cars for sale listings. When a car is posted on here (usually Steam adds the pics and text)maybe we should include the phone number if it's in the listing. I was going through dome of the threads from later last years and earlier this year and wondering if the cars had been sold yet and if not what kind of offers the owners might take now.
