^ Thanks, Zac. --- So, should the site be wider? I believe I can make it 10% wider. Header pic look ok? Too big? TK mentioned to me a while back that I can put a whole bunch of Bluesmobile pics into a rotation so every time you open the site it'll be a different pic. We'll load 120 screencaps lol. But yeah, is the size/height of the header pic too much? The footer image is of course BB2000, seemed fitting to have an image of both Bluesmobiles.

Hi Steam: The horizontal width of pics is an important issue for me, because I hate it when there's a pic that's so wide that proboards automatically increases the width of the entire thread to accommodate it, which requires me to scroll left and right to read the text in other posts on the same thread. Your header pic doesn't have this problem. I like the width you've allocated for it. It keeps the entire browser at a good width, that I can easily fit on my desktop without sideways scrolling. I don't care for the way the header pic splits into 3 segments to fill up the entire horizontal space. I think the picture would be more impressive with just a single original frame without the two side panels, but that's not a big deal for me. And the pic at the bottom is nice, too. your friend in pic happiness, arthur

This is the first time I've been able to visit (damned work ), since the site changed over to the new look. I actually kinda like it. Rob

One change I'd like to see is the << Prev/ Next >> buttons moved to the bottom of the thread, rather than the top.

It would make more sense at the bottom, as that's where one will be after reading through the page. Or how about at the top and bottom?

It's a little hard to notice the bold font when looking for threads that were updated recently. Can anything be done about that?

The easiest way to see the recently updated threads is to click "New Threads" at the top of the page ... --- One change I'd like to see is the << Prev/ Next >> buttons moved to the bottom of the thread, rather than the top. I'm looking, haven't found out how to tackle that one yet.

The first time around I hadn't noticed that the buttons float down the page with you as you scroll. So, it's not too bad.

I think the picture would be more impressive with just a single original frame without the two side panels, I think the 3 segments thing is the default. I've tried different side panels which looked bad. I think it could be a solid pic, I figure I need a screencap 1135px wide. I don't believe I have one handy. * The current header pic is 1137px wide so I guess I gotta go a bit wider than that.

The current header pic looks looked like this on my web-browser: which looked perfect. So I was surprised when you said you needed to go a bit wider. So then I resized my browser window, smaller horizontally: You can see that it just chops down the header pic, trimming off the sides as needed. And then I made the window bigger horizontally: And you can see that once it gets to the width of the header pic, it just duplicates the pic as needed to get to the needed width. I searched for "proboards banner repeat" and found the following: support.proboards.com/thread/444044Does this work to stop the banner repeat: Add this to your Global Header and all should be well for your banner. <style type="text/css"> .welcomebg { background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center; } </style> your friend in proboards experimentation, arthur edit: now that I see my post, the pics don't represent exactly what I saw, because photobucket resized them to 1024 max width. But you can see the gist of what I was talking about with regard to the side repeat.

I request we refactor our "props" organization. We have "Bluesmobile Props", and "Movie Props / Stuff For Sale". Problem #1: "Stuff For Sale", has info on things that are free, like free props from Blues Brothers Private: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/1052/paper-propsProblem #2: I don't understand the rationale for why something blumo related would be in one forum and not the other. Examples: 2.a) Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker. Was never in the movie, and is in the blumo prop forum. 2.b) Elwood's Drivers license. Was in the movie, in the blumo, and is in the "for sale" forum. 2.c) Chesterfield cigarattes. Was in the movie, in the blumo, and is in the "for sale" forum. Problem #3: I don't know where to put things. I want to add a thread with a pic of a replica Epoxy can label, adding a link to the source on RPF, and there seems to be no place to put it. So where does a free Epoxy label go? It's not for sale, and it doesn't go on the blumo. My thoughts are that it would be good to have one forum for props as a reference place where someone could go to find things: - regardless for sale or free - regardless if it was -- mounted in the blumo (8-track) -- flying around in the blumo (cigarette pack) -- snugly squeezed above the visor (drivers license) -- could have been on the blumo in a different universe (bumper sticker) -- never near the blumo (record player) When stuff comes for sale, when the item is an example of a particular make/model from the movie, it seems to make sense to add it to the thread (such as we do now for 8-track, and record player threads). But when there are different sellers of manufactured goods for sale, each seller could have their own thread. Like TK826 has his stencil thread, and whenever a different seller puts up a stencil set for sale on e-bay, that different set sale goes in its own thread, and we keep that thread running (like we do now when a monaco gets sold and resold its all in the same thread). your friend in propination, arthur

How about "Blues Brothers movie related/themed paper props and items", with the word FREE in the title, or FOR SALE, if it's available that way, and make it clear in the title whether the item is actually seen in the movie (related), like the Epoxy label, or is a fantasy item (themed), such as the Ray's bumper sticker. BLUES BROTHERS MOVIE RELATED/ THEMED PAPER PROPS AND ITEMS Epoxy glue label (as seen in the movie) - FREE DOWNLOAD
Chesterfield cigarettes pack label (as seen in movie) - FREE DOWNLOAD
Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker (fantasy item - not seen in movie) - FOR SALE Elwood's Drivers License (as seen in movie) - FOR SALE Chesterfield cigarettes pack (as seen in movie) - FOR SALE You could even go as far as breaking them into subcatagories, like "Bluesmobile related", "Elwood related", "Jake related", etc., to make it even easier to find certain items.... Just some suggestions. Rob

How about "Blues Brothers movie related/themed paper props and items"... Hi Ghost: Good ideas. I think I like all of them, except I'd change "paper props and items" to simply "props". > [example naming format] > Epoxy glue label (as seen in the movie) - FREE DOWNLOAD > Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker (fantasy item - not seen in movie) - FOR SALE I like this format; everything about this. > You could even go as far as breaking them into subcatagories, like "Bluesmobile related", > "Elwood related", "Jake related", etc., to make it even easier to find certain items.... We could, but its not like we have THAT many props. I propose we start with just one giant prop thread and then see how it goes. your friend in jawboning about ideas, arthur
