Well, after 12 years it looks like it's time to "retire" BLUES2... the poor girl's had too many New England winters as a daily driver. Fritz & I had a plan in place to get to work on the body stuff this year (quarters, doors and hinges, all manageable) but this last winter kicked her butt a lot and the mech work she needs is beyond our means at this time. Rusty rear fuel lines/tank being the Big thing, along with smaller things that add up (water pump, a/c compressor, rear diff seal, signs of head gasket leakage worsening)... we don't do our own work so gets to be a pricey restoration.
I'm not listing her for sale per se because I've got some complex time and storage constraints and don't really have the option of waiting on this... if she wasn't a Bluesmobile replica her value wouldn't be much anyway in her shape. She may just go to my mechanic but we'll see what the best options are over the next day or two.
Keeping the Faith,
- Bis

- Damn salt, eh! Destroying our cars since 1940, at least if I recall that's what I read one time as to when they decided to start using salt on highways. And it started in Detroit, go figure. The cars were just built too well and lasting too long, they had to figure out a way to destroy them for us. Turnover, turnover. Uh, no Chev - Plymouth. I've gone through the rusty fuel lines crap before. I can't even remember which car it was, noticed the smell of gas one day in the driveway, never a good sign. So what will become of BLUES2 ? Maybe for sale to a fan? If so I'd just say it's an excellent recreation of the BB2000 graphics and it's also an actual P72. So those are two on the plus side right there. Here's a pic of her from a few pages back ... Thanks for the update and info, Bismo. Keep us posted.

Thanks Steam... yup, heartbreaking for sure... she's off the road now as of Saturday, we did one last gig with her Friday night! Engine's still strong, taking her for her last ride Saturday afternoon I can say that well, should I hypothetically been inclined to try, she still hits 100mph as smoothly as ever!
I would like to sell her to a fellow enthusiast of course... if someone who does their own work had the time and patience to deal she's perfectly salvageable... as someone who doesn't do his own work though the repairs are just too much right now. I actually do have a fan on FB who is looking at the logistics from their end on getting the car transported... should know more on that by Wednesday, if it doesn't work out I'll most likely list her officially on these boards next.
I'll have time constraints though... with nowhere to park her at home (I've already picked up a "new" commuter vehicle) she's temporarily parked at my mechanic's garage... but can't leave her there more'n a couple of weeks so needs a home soon or I'll need to look at less savory options.

End of MANY eras. I am beyond devastated and heart broken but every decision point led me to the same answer.
BLUES1 has been sold. Yes, to a member here, will leave it up to them to come forward but help them of course as needed... she needs some more rust work now but still running Great.
Deal came together very quickly and JUST before (truthfully a surprisingly coincidental timing) I was going to post it here anyway.
Keep the FAITH my Brethren. Keep the cars alive but more, Keep the BLUES alive.
I am retired.

I understand why you had to do it, but it's a sad day, nevertheless; I hope the new owner will give it the love and care that you have. You will be missed, Bis ... just look me up, if you're ever again down here in Florida, and we'll gab about the old days. Rob

Wow, bis, that must have been a tough decision. Country Bunker sold his Blumo a year ago or so and I thought must be tough to let go of a Blumo after 10 or more years together. Well you sure have a lot of memories with her, just going through this 10 year thread is quite a trip. Some of us of course remember when Blues-1 was Green-1 . Pretty cool. So ... what's next what's happening, whatcha gonna do? You got the money you owe me motherfucker ? Lol, I couldn't stop myself there. Hopefully you still drop by with some updates or just thoughts about life once in a while, Bis. Thanks, man. Steam

Rob, I'll actually be at Disney in early December, going with a friend and not sure how much free time I'll have but we'll be in Disney Springs the afternoon/evening of Tue. 12/7, and likely again the evening of Sat. 12/10... can't commit to anything yet (you know how planned vacas can be) but y'never know! bismo.beerbelly on gmail.com reaches me. Steam, I always left her green on the inside LOL, she was just too comfy to change! Sold to another forum member here at least so hoping it's a good home, will leave it to them to reveal themselves (if they haven't already, I've been offline here for a bit again for more obvs reasons recently). Keep the Faith, guys.... - Bis

Hi. I'm the one who bought Bismo's Bluesmobile. I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a piece of rear window trim. I lost one. I would even buy a whole set just to have extras. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
