What a great story. It's all about having fun, and it looks like BLUES 1 and BLUES 2 were handing it out all evening. Great job!

Thanks, gents! Awesome stuff, Bismonator!! So who drove which car? Kinda looks like you and Buster in Blues2 at McD's ... ? Anyone make any mall jokes? Haha, I could picture the Monaco crashing out of that Sears. Actually Buster stayed home for this one... I drove the Monaco, my friend/mechanic Scy drove the Mark II. That's his wife (and my co-worker at my "day" job!) Tammy in the front seat with him. No, no mall jokes, I didn't even think of it myself until you mentioned it, d'oh! A few folks were wondering why there was no box of donuts in the cars though! - Bis

And actually, the karma paid off since one of the best things to come out of this will probably turn out to be a new connection with the guy that came up and introduced himself as the host of another blues jam out in that area (about 45 mins from me). We've since been corresponding as I definitely want to check it out, and today he passed this gem along:
"The jam runs every Sunday from 3-7 pm. We have featured artists every week, which hopefully makes it sound like a slightly different band every week. We work for a really great owner, who has supported what we are doing. She drives a 1956 Cadillac Rat Rod!!!! When I told her about you/your cars, she said that she'd willing to give you a Cadys Tee Shirt (believe me, they're nice!!) and a few drinks in exchange for bringing one of your cars down to display in front of Cadys while the jam is taking place! Let me know if you're interested."
(Cady's is the name of the club.) So, IF I agree to go to this jam I was planning on going to anyway, and driving one of the cars I was going to drive anyway... and IF I agree to take the best parking spot they've got when I GET there... I get free drinks and swag!
I said, "ok".
Looking forward to checking it out next month when we're back from our upcoming vacation!

Ahhh, ok. Heh, don't tell Buster I confused him for Tammy. All I had to go by was that pic from behind the car. I thought, yeh that could be Bis and Buster, from a size proportionate point of view. To be honest I had a feeling you'd be driving Blues1. --- Cool news about Cady's. Has kinda a rustic look to it ... I noticed something on their website That should make you happy, Bis ... www.cadystavern.com/ ;D

Yup, I'm very much looking forward to getting there! I'd go this Sunday but we've got Taj Mahal tiks that evening in NH so it'll have to wait a bit. Hoping to get to Cady's on 10/9, when Jerry Portnoy will reportedly be playing there during the jam!

Winning the first place?
"The Lord works in Mysterious ways" Usually our cars bring so much joy to the adults that know the movie, you did this for a little guy and it looked like he could use some cheering up, God Bless, nice job, very nice job.
Love the bar too.

Gonna get a chance to maybe meet Danny again next week, Tuesday evening... hoping to bring both Bluesmobiles down. We'll see how it goes, if nothing else I'll get me some more vodka! - Bis Attachments:

... hoping to bring both Bluesmobiles down. Too cool . I doubt Dan has ever seen both Blumo's represented at a signing before. I hope you can pull that off, Bis. I'd love to see a pic of Dan's face when he sees both cars. For sure he'd love that.

Here's hoping! I've been in touch with the store manager, he's psyched we're coming down (I do have a second driver so I'll get both cars there tomorrow). He's hoping to park one in front of each entrance to the store. I'M hoping to get a pic with Dan with BOTH cars in shot, but we'll see if the opportunity presents before or after the signing! Also had the Bluesmobile out at that biker bar (Cady's) that hosts the weekly blues jam in western Rhode Island yesterday, got some cool pictures parked behind their '56 Caddy: . - Bis

So a successful Bluesmobile(s) signing Tuesday night! I'll have pics early next week (haven't downloaded the camera yet, though got one uploaded to FB from my iPhone) but I was indeed able to meet Danny and get both Bluesmobiles signed at the Crystal Head event.
A HUGE turnout, he was there signing long after the store had technically closed!
When we pulled in I had a pleasant surprise, as there was already a Bluesmobile in the parking lot... It was our long-lost brother Jake, Stein529, with his "Big Boy" from New Hampshire! Hadn't seen him in a couple of years, he and Big Boy both looking great. There was also a mini-Ectomobile from the New Hampshire Ghostbusters there, fashioned out of a PT Cruiser.. it was actually pretty cool in its own way.
Another pleasant surprise was, by the time we came out of waiting in line with our vodka, my friend Jerry from Auto Rust Technicians in Rhode Island, who did the major rust repairs on our Monaco last year, was there with THEIR Bluesmobile! They have an external PA so while we were waiting for the event to end Jerry started up a bit of a street party, playin' blues while he and I both blew harp through live mics. Fun!
Will get those pictures up in a coupla days, there's not a ton of 'em as Danny was moving quickly and with a Purpose so no real time to talk more than superficially with him (though he was VERY complimentary of BLUES1!) but will post what we have.

That's awesome, Bis!! Where was Blues1 parked? There's some pics from the Attleboro Patch and I can see Jerry's car and Jake's Big Boy, and the PT Ecto ... but no Blues1. There's also a video at the Patch website ... attleboro.patch.com/topics/Dan+AykroydAnd you are in that one, Bis. Gimme Some Lovin' I'll try and embed the vid ... Ok nope lol. There's an embed link but I couldn't figure it out. Anyway you can watch it at the above link. Great stuff.

Thanks for finding that article, Steam! The woman who took the vid gave me her card but I left it at home today (I'm at work all evening as usual) and I was trying to remember the name of the site. BLUES2 is actually parked directly behind the Ecto, though it doesn't really show up. These cars are all in a carport area just outside the side entrance. BLUES1 is parked in front of the main entrance... there's one spot in the vid where the camera pans left looking down the front of the store, the main entrance is about 2/3 of the way down the building. You can KINDA make out the silhouette of BLUES1's nose there. - Bis Attachments:
