LOL!! I LOVE that photo!!! And very accurate too, apart from the angle, since BLUES1 is under a tarp with maybe just that part of the nose sticking out from time to time.

Wow, over a year since I posted in my own thread, apologies!! Just a quick note confirming another successful round trip for BLUES1 to the 2016 Juke Joint Festival in the heart of the Delta a this (past) month.... the car has actually been stronger every year, only problem this year was the wiper motor deciding it didn't need to park the blades any more when we turn it off... will dig up a new motor soon for that but otherwise a fantastic ride and a great trip full of blues (both performing and listening)!

Awesome to hear, Bis...I'm glad the ol' gal made it there, and back again, with no major issues.
I've found that it's always a crap shoot when driving an old car long distances; no matter how new the parts, or how well it runs locally, when you finally hit highway for the long road trip, it seems like everything falls off at once.
And if it doesn't, you spend a lot of time 'listening' for things that might go wrong, even if only in the back of your mind, lol.

Rob So true THAT LOL... though I'm most nervous just before leaving. "What the HELL are we doing?" Once rolling the car's been so smooth I usually settle in without too much worry..... knock on wood. - Just noticed that Bismo and Fritz are in Ticonderoga, NY this weekend as the "B-Movie Blues" for Trekonderoga! Trekonderoga is using this beauty shot of BLUES1 on their website ... Thanks Steam, yeah, helluva weekend! Another moderately long road trip for the old girl, about 600 miles round trip, no problems at all other than the lack of air conditioning in the high heat and humidity... and a clodgy wiper motor we're looking into. In addition to Bluesmobile rides we were performing as the opening act to James Cawley's Elvis Presley tribute show, this concert was a blast playing to a sold out auditorium... but in a public high school that was ALSO lacking of a/c on a very hot and humid night. Halfway through the show both the Brothers AND Elvis were, frankly, offensive... smelling... I mean, we smelled BAD! Some photos and a little video are up on FB, I'll get some to post here shortly as well. Keep the Faith, - Bis |
