Quote came in this morning from Ssnake-Oyl products to restore my seat belts. Wow, who knew old cars were so expensive?
We agreed to restore and re color the maroon 76 belts but use the 74 front outside lap and shoulder retractors. The only reason for that was to maintain the proper 74 mounting locations without modification. The main push for using the 76 belts was the chrome was in much better shape. The 74 stuff would all have to be rechrome and some parts were pitted so bad that they wouldnt ever work right. Got my fingers crossed for great results.

Sooo, as of today the Blumo has its first gig! And thus a deadline! Every year in the first weekend in May we have the Flying Pig Marathon here in Cincinnati. I have actually run this full marathon for the past 3 years. Well a local Boy Scout Troop staffs the water stop at mile 19 and they have traditionally always done a Blues Brothers theme. This year they were on the fence about wether they wanted the continue the BB theme until I told the scout leader about my car. The thought of having a Blumo present sealed the deal. We are hoping that having the presence of an authentic Bluesmobile at their water stop is sure to win them the best themed water stop award. So now I cant let the boys down. I got to have it roadworthy by May 1! I need exhaust, oil pressure gauge, dash pad installed, front doors finished, seat belts, glass, spotlight, pushbars, stencils, SEATS!!! oh man I need seats. I have the rest under control but my seat situation is bad at the moment. I have this seat Do I just get it recovered in tan or do I hold out for a "correct" seat? Anyone got any leads on a basic bench seat? Looking for suggestions.

Thanks, I should have been more specific. I need an inside rear view mirror for mine. It was missing when I got the car, I'm not sure what its supposed to have...I don't see any signs that there was ever one glued to the windshield, so I'm assuming I need the one that mounts to the headliner and supports the sunvisors, like the one you picked up. There are 3 mounting screw holes in my headliner but I have also seen the sunvisor brackets mounted there with the glass mounted mirror on other Monacos. I will have to start looking around for something like you got and see if it works. Did you find a mirror? If you have 3 holes in the headliner, you had a ceiling mounted mirror. If you had a windshield mounted mirror the sun visor holder would have only been two holes, but the dimple for where the screw goes would be there. We had to drill the third hole for the mirror because my car originally came with a windshield mounted mirror.

For those who have been following my build and other builds on the board there has been some discussion and debate about whether an Edelbrock performer RPM intake will fit under the hood of a c body with a 440. Against my better judgment I proceeded with my build using this intake anyway. Had to modify the accelerator and kick down linkage, But once the fenders went on it wasn’t looking good Even last month Country was giving me a hard time about it. Looking great man!! Still waiting for you to get that hood on though... Haha I'm coming up again in a couple weeks. Should be around you saturday the 31st. Think you'll be around?? No reason to wait for the hood to go on, I already know it won't fit. I will probably do it just to see how close it is but I seriously doubt it will be even remotely possible. At this point I don't even know if the standard Performer intake will work. Well the time finally came, to install the air cleaner and hood. And believe it or not… It fit!!! Kind of, lol The hood does rub on the housing a little bit. I decided to cut a bit of the hood brace away, then found that it still rubbed so I cut a bit more. Its super tight but it fits. I’m going to go with it. Between the port matching, painting and throttle linkage it’s too much work to turn back now! Still need to put some paint on the hood to cover up where the brace was removed. I may end up running a hood pad to give a bit of protection just in case it rubs under power but with the poly mounts it shouldn’t move around too much.

Progress continues. Josephblues had made a really nice looking set of faux push bars for Mona. I loved the look but I really wanted something more substantial. Not that I would ever actually push something with them, I just wanted something that didn't move if you leaned on them. Josephblues original bars. Using the plans on BBC I ordered up some steel and fired up the welder. Had to bend this massive 1" solid bar. Painted and installed pics soon.

Way behind with pictures and updates. Hope to get caught up this weekend. Yesterday was the first time in 3 years we had nothing to do on the car. We are held up, waiting on parts.
Waiting on tires to be delivered (hopefully today) so they can be mounted and car aligned. Waiting on windshield moulding clips before front and back glass can be installed. Waiting on seat belts before the remainder of the interior can be installed. Waiting on Unity 216 mount before spotlight can be installed. Waiting on insurance agent to look at car and insure before it is sent to the exhaust shop. Waiting on a front license plate bracket. Waiting on AC lines to finish the air conditions and under hood. Waiting on stencils from TK so the exterior paint markings can be completed. I'm not really worried about all of the above because we have parts on order and work is in process. What I need more than anything is a FRONT SEAT! I'm getting worried. I have nothing in the works here. I'm ready to buy a car simply to get the seat. Going to try and hit some older junk yards I know of and see what they have but I don't have a lot of confidence that will pan out.
Fingers crossed a seat pops up soon.

WOW! Looks fantastic! You've got to be excited. Has she moved under her own power yet? Getting a little excited. It can move under its own power but I have not pushed the issue yet. There is no exhaust on the car so its not real pleasant to have running at the moment. Hope to have it at the exhaust shop this week.
