Working alone so used the dually to extract. The good is pristine fluids, started and ran with no smoke, AC had pressure & oil, ALL belts pulleys in tact, nice 3 core radiator, Hydroboost system, low miles. The bad is short tail housing 727. The ugly is the exterior cake but it will clean up. This motor will go in Blue-Too with the AC stuff and new freeze plugs when it gets out of paint prison. May try to Hydroboost the Lemon car. That would be some wicked brakes. Eaux

My spare 727 came with a short tail too. I think they're interchangeable though, my dad thinks if I can't do it myself, a shop could probably do it cheap.

After first bath looking better. I think we will keep the long RV dipsticks and have them poking out the hood. That would be Lemony. Compression checked good so we are not going to crack it open. Also found a donor 727 for the tail shaft. Now just need to get RV out of the yard. Boyd to the rescue. Sanford

Well the RV is a definite POS but inside glove box had all the service records on the motor. Well maintained and immaculate on the inside, both oil and water galleys. It is a cast crank RV 440-2 with the 452 heads which I think have the harden valve seats. Perfect low maintenance Bluemobile. Looking for a long tail shaft, bearing and housing to convert the 727 for a C body if anyone has a donor tranny. The one my buddy had is the old cable shift. Motor painted and even though water pump looked good, changing out since motor on stand. Phish

Shop is trashed but we started the RV 440 on the shop floor. Jury rigged the ignition box, grounded with vice grips etc. VAROOM! Started right up, no smoke and great oil pressure. The RV was missing a carb and we found a Holley spreadbore on the shelf. Ran and idled with a rigged fuel and electric system. Pulled plugs and did a compression check, all 130 plus to 150. The fresh tranny was used (you can see the new convertor) but we decided to use the smaller RV convertor as externally balanced. Should stall better for burnouts. As soon as the car is painted this setup goes in and the cop stuff comes out for Lemons. Lot of swapping but someone is going to get a shot at a good car. Honey I'm home!!! Hooptie-ville Louisiana. The Omaha Monaco (aka Burnt Orange Whip) status: GOOD Lot of good on this car, all original, everything works, AC needs a charge. Cowl, top of car and glass is perfect. Interior other than worn seat is perfect as well. BAD is very lower front fenders and lower quarters. No sweat all repairable. UGLY is a long time valve cover leak. Motor is filthy. It will need a good checkup but went out and put Hunert' miles on it and made it back. We could have driven it to Louisiana. Ole' Leanburn has some kick.

Honeymoons over. Orange Whip was on a flat this morning. This is the dirtiest motor/tranny I have ever seen. I think that is a starter in that picture. I did score a trunk mat that I have been looking for. Going to have to rent a hot water pressure washer and do this outside. The shop would never recover. Nastyeaux

Swapped the 318 out of Blue-Too for a Nascar type dual exhaust from the RV on Orange Whip for the Lemons race. I told you it was a swap meet. Stripped the interior, found the broadcast sheet and the ole' Whip will fry THE tire. Phish

Can you believe there was an some sort of food wrapped in foil under the intake!!! FUNKEY Stripped the interior, pressure washed the top of the motor (you can not tell it) and who says a Monaco can't do a wheelie? Iowa farm vehicle. Hemi shootout in Bowling Green in a week. Come watch some stock 3200 lb 68 A bodies. ME3

Did you do a donut around that tree? Heh, or drunk aliens showing off making a crop circle around the base of a tree. Looks like the next tree up from it also has that ring around it, what is that? A fertilizer ring or fertilizer burn or something?

Good eye. Osmacote time release fertilizer around drip line of tree. 41 oaks line the drive which will be a tunnel one day. Trying to hurry them along as I turn 66 and on SSI tomorrow!!! Each tree has its on sprinkler as a kicker. We have a hemi shootout at Bowling Green the 26th and then get started on roll cage for Orange Whip. It will have the black fury doors, hood with giant scoop and deck lid. It is going to be BUTT TERRIBLE as they say on Lemons 24 website. Check out their youtubes. Hilarious.....

All the Whip AC stuff functional except not cold. So we dropped the inner fender and hood diagonal brace and got the system out in tact for Blue-Too who should be in paint tomorrow. Also are removing the good ole' lean burn for the trash can. Motor still not clean enough to pass Lemons tech so pulling inner fenders to get a better pressure wash angle. Shout out to GTOPAT (thanks) giving advice on the Lemons stuff. Phish
