Well, Happy Mardi Gras. Raining so stayed in shop and pulled the driveline. Schumacher 318 to 440 kit on the way. The donor car has a solid BB K frame so thinking of pulling it and cleaning for sale. Running one of these days.

Man this punch list cleaned our clock today. Both brand new freeze plugs in one head had a super tiny hole right in the center. Someone laughing in China. My machinist missed it as I did painting it. SO out it comes again which will allow another slight mod the Schumacher mount. Frustrating. Good news is it primed with 80 PSI cold oil and would have fired it but leak was going straight into the alternator. Had to custom build small block to big block shift stuff, exhaust went well. Pulleys another story. SO 1974 440 cop car into a 77 Monaco with a 74 front clip. NUTTIN' TO IT!!!! Can't cuss on Sunday.

Three motor pull outs are a CHARM. Once again out comes motor after a text from my machinist. " I meant to tell you, I had the large soft plugs for the block but not the small ones for the heads." Oh well, I was able to get the Schumacher mount bolt fixed so it's all good. Pressure test cooling to 15 lbs and 2 beers later HOLDING. Using jump box 'cause Rick sold me a car with a bad battery LOL, 1/2 revolution and she fired right up. Broke in the cam with some zinc and ran at various rpm on the lift for about 30 minutes. Shift kit will knock your socks off. Have to stop on project as NHRA hemi stuff starts next weekend and I don't see much of a break (pun). Pulley police still needed but we are close. Phish What pulleys do you need? Not sure what I got, but I can dig around.

This motor had AC but all that stuff had been picked. So it had a 4 pulley at crank. I have a 3 and a 2 for crank as well. The pump pulley was missing. I have a double deep, a single shallow and a single deep. After market non AC PS pump kit and alternator brackets are being used. One of those need to move out I think. We just have not found the right combo. A pic of a non AC 440 with PS (if there is such a thing) would be great.
LOOK WHAT I FOUND. This may fix all the pulley problems.

I am not very good at Facebook, in fact, my name is misspelled. BUT on a Bluesmobile C body FB thread, there is to be a Bluemobile gathering in Mount Prospect on June 16th. We plan on towing the GR Blumo there with Blue-Too and then mosey over to Buffalo Great Race. I am sure some details will follow. Penguin said she is IN.

After many pulley attempts we just built a bracket. Outer belt is water pump and PS pump with cooler. Inner double will be alternator. Ain't factory but may work. Project crawling now as Spring has Sprung down here. It runs fine so paint when we can get to it.
