I completely agree there. The feeling is just off-putting and downright unpleasant.
On the up side, now we can transfer all the old threads over to here. I think we have a much better focus in discussion as well as a lot more flexibility, since we don't have to adhere to the guidelines that there may be some board members that are 14 and easily offended.

I'm glad it's back. I don't own a Monaco-yet- but seeing as how I'm now unemployed;I don't know how long it'll be before I get one. With that in mind; I'm glad we have both. As Lord Vadus said, there's more flexibility here, and more of a focus on the car.
However; I don't see why there has to be a "choose one or the other" approach to things. Why can't we just have and enjoy both?

I'm not saying that it has to be a "One or the other" scenario; quite the opposite, I'm saying that I like the organization and layout of this board better and its becoming a more valuable resource for Bluesmobile aficionados. The organization here and multiple levels of discussion and sub-categories make it a breeze to find something that relates to whatever stage of work your car is presently at.

It's cool that the board is finally back up, but honestly, I no longer have much reason to post there.
I'm not into fan fiction, the costume has been covered in detail, and I don't often play the harmonica.
I might occasionally read up on what new merchandise has been discovered, but other than that, there is (personally) not much reason to go. * (in regard to topics)
So, as long as this place is around, I'll be here.

Sorry about that; I didn't mean to imply that you did.I was commenting on how everything seems to be a "vs." situation everywhere else. I like the way this board is set up, everything Bluesmobile related is just a click away. ....just don't call it a "Blumo"....

The internet doesn't readily lend itself to be understood, so one has to expect minor misinterpretations. Personally, this board offers what I want to know about; the 1974 Dodge Monaco. Factory documentation isn't the best on these cars and its getting harder and harder to find them, much less restore them to a driving condition. As older cars become rarer and rarer, it's getting to be a finer art in terms of keeping them on the road. We need all the help we can get. While we're at it, we could also use a general "Monaco Appreciation Thread" that shows off all of our Monacos; be they Bluesmobiles or not. I'd create it, but without a picture hosting account, I only can post one image at a time.

Definitely keep the lights on here in the garage, much more details and useful tech stuff. Subcategories for everything car, less arcade and pinky puffy stuff.
On another note I as well am not impressed with the new look of BBC, why does every website have to be redesigned and relaunched until it's finally all white? BBC had a good theme-look, even the last overhaul a few years back watered down the cool look. After the relaunch back then the blue color-theme was yet a little more Baby-blue and now bang... all white... with huge white gaps of nothing, to keep things at least a little separated from each other. This makes me scroll my ass off. Looks just like any other board now, one of the ones that try to sell you something, customer mainstream bs...
Worst of all: Noone seems to pick up the irony of my post over there...
Anyway, this one uses a white bg as well but it's been set up in what, 5 minutes? That's o.k. just the infos please (wipers next, driver-side stopped wiping).
Please just don't forget to run your own backups every other week, it wouldn't be the first web-provider to close business without prior notice nor would it be the first server to to die and loose all data...

That's an excellent point, 440. Steam did a great job setting up the board quickly and tuning it to our needs, but as far as I know nobody is doing backups of the site (other than maybe proboard). When Steam get's back on-line, I'm going to chat with him about the best way we can guarantee that the info will be available (how we can do our own backups of the data, regardless of what proboards does). I don't know if proboards even offers the facility for people to backup their own boards. But I'll be investigating this (and also, see about if/how I can easily backup my photobucket pictures). thanks, arthur

I got notice on my cell phone of BBCs return. Decided to have a look after I got out of college. The site looks good, but with everyone here now, this feels like home. I'll do occasional checking on BBC, but since my biggest interest is with the cars, here I'll stay.
I do agree that pulling needed threads from the other site to post here is a very good idea and even more important is how to archive everything. I'm not much of a computer engineer so I'll have to leave that to someone else.
Here to appreciate one of the greatest cars ever built.

I haven't checked BBC out again yet but I'm sure I will... Agreed though Steam's made us a great "Garage" (as 440 says) here specifically for Bluesmobile topics and I like it. I'm sure 'll stay in some of the more music-oriented forums on BBC though as well if everyone comes back.

I took a quick look at the new message boards at da BBC. It just doesn't seem as appealing as before. Meh, I had a good run there ... 5,000 posts in 4 years LOL. I honestly have no interest whatsoever in continuing that pace over there. I'm quite happy to hang out here with youse guys.

I qouted that last message with the desire to put an emphasis on the "I'm quite happy to hang out with youse guys." You've done a nice job and service to the guys who care so much about this topic or each other. A nice job uniting people as well. I will say, at times w/ regret my complete honesty will go a bit far, as it has done here and over 'dere. I hold no grudges to those I respect, so they know. And I'd like to let it be known, I respect everyone here. even if it may seem otherwise. john
