I purchased a right fender from Nebraska and a left fender from Iowa or Idaho (one of the I states) and they are both the same color with woodgrain, they look like they're off the same car. I hate wood grain but it's better than rust. 4 days of stripping on my lunch hour and still not quite done with the first fender. I'm going to leave the dings and just work the dent in the middle out some to keep the Bluesmobile look. The car also has several dings and dents which should really add to the look.

That is gonna be one nice blumo! Your a lucky SOB for finding all the parts needed. Great job! I look very forward to seeing this one convert! The bug will set in, and you will be looking for all the other little stuff soon I bet, once shes painted.
I got a laugh out of the dent on the quarter, my car has the exact same dent, only on the passenger side, right around the marker light. Must be a prone area.
Good luck with her!

Thanks, the bug has already set in, I just bought 2 Monaco fender emblems on Ebay and I went junk yarding on Saturday but amazingly there wasn't one C body newer than '73 in this rather large old yard. Here in the north east it seems like all of the '74-'77 C bodies have fallen off of the face of the earth. I should have a front bumper soon and I do have sources for 2 others but they are kinda pricey, I'll pass on the info to you in a PM once I'm sure I have one in my hands. My biggest concern is it warming up so I can get working on it and get it running smoothly. I have to get a muffler on it too, the noise is ten times more annoying than it is on the video and it's hard to set it up when it sounds so bad. Basically since someone tried tuning it up and put a new carb on it I'll have to find TDC and just start from scratch with the timing and reset the magnetic pick up air gap in the distributor since I don't know if they messed with it. Then I'll re-set up the carb and hopefully it will run better. The dent in the quarter is one of many, it's also the biggest one. I'm leaving them, you gotta figure every old police car I've ever owned had small dents all over them, plus the Bluesmobile drove thru a mall, it'd have to be pretty dented up.

- And so it begins If one has to start with a Royal Monaco for their Blumo build you sure found a good one, it's a beauty ... And the tan interior to boot, what a bonus. The steering column, is that tilt/telescopic?

Nothing exciting going on, did some work on the right '74 fender at work and put a new mini starter in it, now she starts right up. While I was under there I also cranked the torsion bars back up so it doesn't sit like a lower rider. Next is a muffler so I can hear what's going on and get her running smooth. I'm sure you all know about using the 90's truck 5.2/5.9 mini starters on the old engines, right?

Car looks great! Thanks on the front bumper lead! No hurry on my end. Still need to get a mini starter myself. Actually I'd love to run an older gear reduction started. I LOVE the sound of em.. but obsolete I know lol

Its turned into another hobby actually, collecting all the diff ecig stuff. I have an ecig used it very little after quitting. I had pneumonia, best way to quit, I couldn't smoke for over a week anyway so I said screw it, now's the time.
