Nearly every word out of his mouth was a lie; that car was, according to him, sold to a customer in CA, so he was there to "promote his shop" but never once mentioned it or the "work" he does and that the car barely ran and had issues that needed to be straightened out that he never addressed before adding that crap to the car. Here's a link for some interesting reading: dmctalk.org/showthread.php?7547-PAWN-STARS-on-History-Channel-Delorean-Time-Machine-07-18-13

Yeah I saw it too. It's all edited to make it look like it's actually his car. Not the fact he builds these reps for a living! Personally I do love the DMC12 and will own one one day (after a blumo obviously lol). I do think the $10k offered was a bit pointless though.

Well, allegedly, it was supposed to be pointless. Honestly, I think it was a fair offer. I own a DeLorean and I've seen Bob's work in person. It's very hack-job and a LOT of things are missing. There are issues where parts have been known to fall off at highway speeds, the car can't go above 80 due to the crap on it weighing it down and creating a LOT of drag, and the fact that the car needed work underneath all that junk makes it a mechanic's nightmare. To use a few quotes that he said about the car on the other site: We took the cleaner off because we had to prime it, and adjust the fuel mixture with an allen wrench. If you look close you will see we stuft a little piece of paper towel into the hole because we lost the little cork that went in there. We were on such a strict timeline, we were literally working on it along the way when ever we had time. After the shooting, when we got to LA, we had time to work on it and get it right. If you have to prime a DeLorean, that means that it has fuel system issues. The lines on the engine were all 30-year-old originals as well as many of the components. There are many parts that will start to need replacing as you actually drive the car; so, it's essentially a static prop. Bob is known for buying a sub-$10k car and throwing the BTTF crap on it without touching the mechanical systems. I wouldn't drive a '74 Monaco that hasn't been touched in 30 years without a basic tune up and light bit of work and that has significantly less systems than the DeLorean does. Bob's all about self-promotion and profit. Fixing the car up doesn't get him more money, so he doesn't. He will also take credit for work that he hasn't done; like on the Bluesmobile that he's been, unsuccessfully, trying to sell. To give a frame of reference, my DeLorean is a mechanically-flawless car with numerous well-documented upgrades and over $25,000 in service history by a world-renown expert in DeLoreans and I'm selling it for $39,000 because you can drive it anywhere at the drop of a hat.

That must be a top car for that money. Over here a top condition one will be about GBP £25k+. A rough one about 15k now.

Indeed it is; Stage II package, 5-speed, beautiful gray interior, under 30k miles, grooved hood installed gas flap spare included, redone wheels, upgraded suspension, control arms, rear links, angle drive, etc.
It's nicer than any of the cars DMCH offered for $57,500 and has a greater level of attention to detail than they ever got.

> we also shot a Ghostbusters episode that will air in a few months. Oh, goodie. More videobob on Pawn Stars. I hope he doesn't take in a blumo. I don't know if I could handle it.

Maybe this is a lead in to him getting his own show like all of those other idiots out there who buy and build junk to sell at unbelievable prices.

He's been saying that he's getting his own show for years, I assume it's just another one of his lies. With his personality and love of self-promotion, I can't see it ever coming to fruition. He's a parasite that tries to get famous off of other's coattails.

Incidentally,Rick seems to be a bit out of touch with interest in movie cars.We all know what a decent BluMo can fetch on Ebay.I can only imagine what a quality BTTF De Lorean would go for.I also remember an Ecto-1 (completely awesome but non-screen accurate interior) selling for $139,000 on Ebay a few years ago.
