At first I thought that perhaps it was on oversight. Maybe Whiting mistakenly thought it was an original.
But, if you Google Whiting + Blues Brothers, the words "original car" pop up all over the place, from entertainment websites, to music blogs and even newspaper articles.
So, it must be bigger than just one person typing a sentence on the theater website. Someone must have deliberately told these sources it was screen used.

Heres another paragraph from that site, "But the performance of the two men isn't the only legit part of the Blues Brothers that will be in town. The car made famous in the film, the Bluesmobile, will also be on hand, along with other movie memorabilia. Fornier said audience members will have their chance to get their pictures taken in front of the car wearing hats and glasses from the movie." From here www.mlive.com/entertainment/flint/index.ssf/2012/04/blues_brothers_revue--and_the.htmlAfter reading that paragraph again.. I wonder.. Is the guy also trying to say he has the original hats and glasses from the movie? Good lord lol

They are definitely using some creative wording. It never actually says that the car was in the movie, however it appears that their goal is for you to believe it was.
They could have used the word "tribute" or "replica" but that sounds nowhere near as exciting.

A particularly interesting photo of our Bluesmobile in my driveway... But only interesting because it was taken by a Massachusetts State Trooper from his cruiser while he sat in front of our house for the Boston Marathon Monday morning! He dug the car when he saw it, so snapped a picture for himself. He had a couple of friends who he knew loved the Blues Brothers so he passed it along to them knowing they'd find it cool too. Well, these friends are also friends of mine, who work at my office, so the photo made its way back to me! They told their Trooper buddy the whole story of course. (I of course was out of town for a music festival in Clarksdale or I'd've been there to offer him a closer look.) Neat how it comes around though. Keep the Faith! - Bis

Neat how it comes around though. Cool story, Bis. Gotta love it when a roller appreciates the Blumo - Here's something inquiring minds want to know Do the Tennessee Blues Brothers still drive this Blumo? I think those pics are from 2008 and pics from 2009 show a Crown Vic ... www.myspace.com/tennesseebluesbrothers

Looking at the seats, door panels, fuel door and taillights, my guess is it's not a real cop car and the 140 speedo (big 0s) was added at some point.

I thought it was but he added a lot of cop car parts. even has the extra tag. I waited for a while looking for the owner. Looked nice though regardless.
