In my hobby of revamping vintage stereos, I came across this beauty. It's a factory AM radio for a '57-'58 Plymouth. Sure, she's a little rough, but she can be fixed up; and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm not sure whether I'm going to wire it up to be a shelf piece or as a drop-in original stereo for a car, but we'll see. If anyone actually NEEDS this for a car, though, I'll sell it. Attachments:

Nice find!! Looks like it came out of a 58 rather than 57 plymouth. The two button 'blanks' at each end of the preselects give the game away. 57's did not have the outline. The extras were for searchtune models which are worth ALOT more!! You could also get a radio with no preselect buttons on it but I have never seen one.

Thanks for the good information; I was pleased to find the thing in the first place. Obviously, it's not a show-car piece, but it still made me smile to find it.

I paid $8.00 for mine, so it's not too bad at that price.
