ell, I called the number listed in the ad, and all I got was a short message that said "The number you have dialed is unallocated." So I sent an e-mail to the craigslist e-mail address, but I seldom gt responses from those...

Any chance anyone else tried calling the number? Maybe it's just my phone/service provider. No hit back from the e-mail...

So I just got an e-mail reply from Craigslist saying "Actual price for the car is 5,000" and then lists a different number. Might call him in the next few days and see what he's been smoking! Probably saw forzav's BluMo in Laguna that went for 10,000 and got his hopes up... New Link: losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/3205481435.html

Sadly, there are some real "winners" in this hobby of ours. I've had a couple instances recently where folks have "adjusted" their price on an item after they had already agreed to a deal. One loser that I purchased a very rare 1969 CHP spec white steering wheel from, added 350. to the price for custom packaging by a cabinent shop and labor cost to remove steering wheel from hub. Wheel arrived in a crappy cardboard box and of course, any idiot can remove an old Mopar steering wheel from a column in about five minutes. I was not happy-but, what can you do as those wheels just don't exist. Another kept bumping the price on a Charger bumper with hidden headlights. Even after I'd finally got him to ship it, he tried to get me to send it back as he'd found another buyer willing to pay even more than I-he even said he'd give me my money back and a small commission for my trouble. This guy with the Monaco sounds like he shares some DNA with those two clowns.

I bet that his friend "who really knows this stuff" told the new price. Which is too much, or did I get my project Monaco too cheap(1750$)?

From $1,900 to $5,000 in 6 days - or did I get my project Monaco too cheap(1750$)? Great price! Around here anyway . The derby guys would shake their heads at that, lol. When you look through the ads at we-crash you see many, many examples of great drivers for under $1,000. Lots of big ol' boats with big V8 motors. But yeah, we've seen this before. The price increase stuff. Jumping this car to 5 grand is insane.
