From the Proboards Help forums:
Q: How do I edit or delete a poll?
A: As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, a moderator, or board administrator. To edit a poll, click the first post in the topic, which always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote then users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if people have already placed votes only moderators or administrators can edit or delete it; this is to prevent people rigging polls by changing options mid-way through a poll.
I'll let you give it a try sig. I was thinking about doing it for you, but quickly thought better of that idea. I want no chance of clicking the wrong button and erasing the thread... then being forced to go into the witness protection program.
Oh.. and I vote 1/8 plexi.

I'll let you give it a try sig. I was thinking about doing it for you, but quickly thought better of that idea. I want no chance of clicking the wrong button and erasing the thread... then being forced to go into the witness protection program. Oh.. and I vote 1/8 plexi. Thanks for the idea. And thanks for letting me try it out; I would be sad if the whole thread got deleted; and I expect the response from proboards would be "we can't get it back - that's a feature for next release". But I don't see any option to delete the poll: I see the text you reference here: blackdranzerkai.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=faq&action=display&thread=44and that's from 2004. I'm thinking that was an older version of proboards, and the latest news is that there's not a way to delete. But if you think of something to try, let me know. You could try it out on the old karma poll: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=board&thread=223&page=1or create a new thread test poll. I'm thinking we're just in a poll-removal holding pattern. And thanks for the shelving thought - I've ordered (6) 1" x 1" x 72" angle aluminum for supports, and plan on using (3) 24" x 72" x 1/4" clear acrylic for shelves. So the winner was something not even on the poll! But I think it will be a good glass substitute, and look better than the originally planned aluminum. thanks, arthur

I changed the title of this thread from - can't remove a poll from a thread to - remove a poll from a thread I finally got tired of that MMoA shelf poll in my Marin County thread. So I was going to lockdown my old thread, and create a new Marin County thread. I went to edit the first post in the thread (to change the title to say locked down), and saw that there was a button to "delete poll". So I deleted the poll, and now all is good. I guess they added that feature in proboards V5. I thought this was a new V5 feature, but it's exactly as TK described 18 months ago: Read more: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/721/remove-poll-thread?page=1&scrollTo=11742#ixzz2kj0v5aGUBut there are many posts saying that the delete poll feature doesn't work: ntwriters.proboards.com/thread/46376I guess the feature is not a V5 unique feature, and that I could have done this 18 months ago when TK suggested it. I guess I was scared off by all the posts saying it couldn't be done. The good news is, that it works! And Marin County thread is now poll-less.
