I'm looking to replace the factory cassette player in my 2000 Grand Marquis, and I'm leaning toward buying a CD player at Best Buy and having them install it. Has anybody here had any experience, good or bad, with having Best Buy install a car stereo? Thanks.

I think that's so easy job that it would be almost impossible to do it wrong. All you need is U-shaped opening tools and most likely a mounting plate thing to the dash. I think a 2000 Ford already have ISO-connectors, if not, there are adapters that fit(no cutting wires at all). I'd still use a cassette adapter to portable cd-player or mp3 player.
