I'd like to start this thread on pic's of our Bluesmobiles in google Earth, via Street View which will be difficult or if you uploaded a pic to a specific location.
Ive already tried to get my pic by the prison but the refused it twice? not sure why, 2nd time I even labeled it "The now closed Joliet Prison" I didnt say Bluesmobile or nothing thinking about infringment.
But I did manage to get a pic of my car at the Tavern I like to go to on occasion, The Owner and his Son love the movie, so he'll be pleased to see that. Maybe get a laugh for his bar! I also tried to put a pic of my bud in front of the 95th street Bridge plaque, but also to no avail.
I'm now trying for the shot I took of my car by Wrigley Field, maybe that will be selected.
Let me know how you guys do, and I'd like to see the shots Goolge Earth has selected of your car, Good Luck to the 1st guy getting his car by the prison!!!

TK826 found a blumo on google maps street view! > Copy and paste this address into the map address bar: > 6342 SW Admiral Way, Seattle, WA > Then zoom in and drag the little yellow guy to street level. After we were shocked and amazed for a while, he told us how he did it: -------------------------- First, I found this photo on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/teflondon/1473425649/It states... "Found in a driveway on the backstreets of the Alki Peninsula" I thought, if someone is taking photos of another persons driveway, they must not be from around there. Meaning it is probably a vacation photo. And, judging by the bushes growing up and over the car, it probably doesn't move much. I thought... "Could it still be there?" I looked to see what tourists places are on the Alki Peninsula. One location stood out the most... the "Alki Point Lighthouse". I started to spiral outward from the lighthouse, and got lucky, because by the third block... bam! there it was. The Flickr photo is dated 2007. The Google map is dated 2009. That means this car has been sitting in the same spot for at least two years. Might be worth it for someone here, from the Northwest, to follow up on it. --------------------- from BBC archives: www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/6101-bluesmobile-sightings/page__view__findpost__p__103521I actually wrote a letter addressed to "Cool Bluesmobile Owner" at the address, asking about it, but before I sent the letter, I found the seller of Marin County and made a deal, so I ended up never sending the letter. It would be cool to know if its still there and get the owner on the board. your friend in google map fun, arthur

I guess I need to reinstall Google Earth, or something. It's just not happening for me. I'm pretty sure it used to work for me. Now I get this message ... "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." I'll try loading it again. I did see the Universal Coronet from a link ... Just gotta turn a bit to the right after it opens. virtualglobetrotting.com/map/blues-brothers-bluesmobile/view/?service=0

For chuckles checked satellite photos from Bing and Google, my cars KINDA show up... In this image from Google you can see the Mark II sitting in the street in front of the house... can make out the K9 on the roof a bit: This image from Bing must be more recent, probably taken in November or December of last year, or early spring this year (March/April), as it shows the Mark II in the driveway with no tree cover, and the Monaco - still green but with the black roof gone - in the street: Just cool for what it is... and only a little disturbing to be reminded that Big Brother is watching! - Bis

Well they arent in the house yet, I think. Cool shots though Bis' Google earth drove by the Debb's house here when I had the Army Truck in the back by the garage, funny part about that was it was also garbage day. So it could have only been 1 of 3 days as the truck was only here for 3 fridays.

Here's mine.... This is from the street view of my house from Google maps (I was rebuilding the front suspension at the time). Weird thing is that I can't seem to find the car from the satellite view either at home or at the parking lot at work. Funny thing is that when I first built the car back in 2003, a buddy of mine from work used to joke that "you could probably see that thing from space". When we got Google Earth at work, sure enough, there it was in the parking lot! And that was before the higher resolution photos that we have now! You could only tell that there was one car in the lot with a black hood & trunk lid, but a white roof. D:\My Documents\My Pictures\113 Bluesmobile\street view.JPG[/img] [/img] Attachments:

I had just remembered that the Google map truck passed by as I was going back to work from lunch some time back in April I think. I just found the street view. If you put 842 Virginia Avenue, Hapeville, Georgia you might see me on the street in front of a Waffle House, we were coming back from Hambones BBQ just up the street. I had never clicked on street view to see it, I had searched a week after the truck passed us but could not see the car in the overhead shot. I didn't realize that the scene changed from the overhead shot to street view, I just assumed that the camera might not have been filming and the truck was just heading somewhere to map other roads. Sorry I am not savvy enough to figure out how to post the shot. If you pass the car on the street view and then look back at it the car gets closer to the intersection and into a turning lane as you get closer to it. I also noticed that they do a good job at blocking license plates and phone numbers, they blurred out the BDR529 plate and rear side phone number! That has got to be a tedious job reviewing every image and blocking out number plates and phone numbers!

If you put 842 Virginia Avenue, Hapeville, Georgia you might see me on the street in front of a Waffle House, Amazing The shot from the front seems to split up, I'll poke around with that later to see if I can get a good one ... For the license plates and stuff I've read it's a software program that does that for them. It's also supposed to blur out faces ... supposed to Let me know if this next one kinda freaks you out a bit, lol. Yeh, big brother is watching ... and his name is Google. ;D
