Info from Robert Wands on the BB2K Blumo and the "Men In Black" connection (I think this was from ye olde bluesmobile.net):

The first thought was the Chevy Caprice (I think this was Landis' first thoughts) then it went to '80s era Ford LTD and as things started to get there, then it was discovered that Men In Black were going to use the same car, so that was out for sure. The chase squads were always going to be '92 and above, so the '90 seemed the right choice...Some of the thoughts were to use a non-white unmarked at first, then black and white prevailed.
