I think the "sad mess" picture is much more interesting. The car in it's pristine condition seems to symbolize everything that was wrong with the '80s. There's a story behind the mess....probably involving too much cocaine.

Lost a axle and window during restoration. So it did !! The 'middle' bank of axles went from 4 to 3. Here's kind of a before, during and after ... Still make it the longest? I think so, nothing else seems to come close. Not even a stretch pick-up with a camper ! Apparently this next one is currently the largest street legal limousine in the world. It's called "Big Blue" in Vegas and holds 45 passengers. - www.ntslimo.com/lang/es/vehicles-2/worlds-biggest-limo-big-blue/----- There's a story behind the mess....probably involving too much cocaine. Haha ... the good ol' 80's and mountains of cocaine. I still watch my DVD of Scarface once or twice a year every year. A big problem with "The American Dream" limo was it couldn't actually be driven anywhere. I don't know if there's any footage of it actually performing a turn. Even with the hinged middle and a second driver for the rear axles, it couldn't navigate city streets. People thought they could hire it for their weddings, in reality it was basically a static prop. Who knows how much coke was involved but those guys were building some crazy cars back then lol ... ^ The red one is a Ferrari. They even built a guitar car!

- It was getting bids I saw it above $5,000 ... then on Friday, "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing." I don't believe that line, they were undoubtedly expecting it to go much higher and decided to end the auction early is more likely what happened. We'll wait and see if there's a re-list, it will probably have a huge Buy It Now if we see it again. The interior shown below was pulled out many years ago.

- Michael Dezer bought this car and for the last 3 years or so it has been undergoing a restoration process. It is now on display at Dezerland in Orlando and during the restoration actually became one and a half inches longer ! The project cost in excess of $250,000. - dezerlandpark.com/orlando/the-auto-experience/
