Nice car, friend. 455 Poncho engines are beasts, and I always thought that engine in that body style would make a great police car. But until this one came up, I didn't know that they actually made them as police cars. Very cool.

Hey, cammer Congrats on the purchase of a rare old cop car. I think mostly around here we got ourselves Mopar guys. Lots of cop car fans, of course, and I'm sure we could answer some of the questions you have. At the same time, though, I'd think you would also do well joining some of the many Pontiac forums out there. These folks have over 14,000 members - pontiacforum.com/Over 1,200 members here - foreverpontiac.com/Really tech specific here. Over 4,000 members - pontiaczone.com/And the very detailed cop car site, Cop Car dot Com - www.copcar.com/Just don't mention us over there at CCdC, a lot of them hate Bluesmobiles, lol. But yeah, thanks for joining us here. If you ever feel like adding some pics of the Catalina we'd love to see them.

Very cool. -AZB Thanks for all the kind words, as far as Pontiac Police cars I know they made a few every year until they got serious in the mid 70's about the Police Market. They sold= quite a few 74-81 Catalina's But not many before. I recently found a distant picture of what is supposed to be my car dated 10-20-71. I will post it up if I get permission from the owner of the picture. Having fun with the car so far. It does need a lot of TLC as it has been parked sense at least 1984.
Looking forward to spending more time here as time permits. And thanks for the links, I will use them.
So far I have found out what the "Performance" 455 4bbl included, it is the normal passenger car engine, with duel exhaust and the performance long branch manifolds. supposed to be good for an extra 15hp. But the passenger side is cracked, and the entire exhaust system needs to be replaced. Luckly the manifolds are repoped, and I ordered a set today. Hope to start working on it this weekend if this winter will ever end!!!!!
