400 in a '71? Should be a 383 if it's a B-motor car. Did the owner mention the VIN in the email? I do see a throttle lock in the pics but it doesn't have a HiPo manifold on the left side of the engine (maybe the LoPo manifold was on a 400 that replaced a 383 or 440). Ok I read his ad, the engine/trans are out of a '77 Cordoba.

He raised the price to $2,100 If I had a nickel for every time I've seen that happen ... I'd have well over a dollar by now. Did the owner mention the VIN in the email? He added some pics ... It's a K-code, looks like the 5th digit is a T so the car was born with a 440 ... I'm not sure about the wording in the text. I got the impression the 727 is out of the 'Doba but not necessarily the 400 ? But we know for sure it's not the original motor. --- Some stuff from Allpar ... - www.allpar.com/model/fury.htmlEven Captain Kirk wanted us to drive a '71 Fury (Gran Coupe) * Marked as sold

Whether the 400 is out of the Cordoba or not the build sheet answered my question either way. A "T" code 440 wouldn't have HiPo manifolds so that may be the original left exhaust manifold in there. Neat car and if it's as good as the pics look it's a good price. Too bad the original 440 is missing, Hi Po or not, it's still a 440.
