I honestly didn't know they had a series, I had seen the video comparing the rat rod (I hate that term) to the Lamborghini. I don't watch or support any shows that destroy (and I don't consider modifying as destroying) classics or any old car for the entertainment value, they aren't making these cars any more.....unless it's a '69 Camaro or '57 Chevy, they are making them again. I even have a hard time watching movies that ruin cars but most movies that destroy a car(s) (like Christine, the Blues Brothers)usually help save the rest of them out there. 8 '74 Monaco saved hundreds of '74-'77 C-bodies and 17 '58 Plymouths saved thousands of finned Mopars, it's worth the sacrifice.

I've been a subscriber to their channel for a little while now. By "their" channel I meant the Motor Trend Channel, 1,200 videos, 2 million subscribers. Roadkill is one of the shows on that channel and to be honest I'm getting a Beavis and Butthead vibe from these guys now. I've watched a few of their vids. After watching the Charger video I looked for the Fury video and was not impressed with that episode at all. There's lots of other good stuff on the Motor Trend Channel.

I don't watch or support any shows that destroy (and I don't consider modifying as destroying) classics or any old car for the entertainment value, they aren't making these cars any more..... I know what you are saying. I watched the Fury episodes as well, they made a pretty piss poor attempt at Lemons racing. On the surface Lemons looks like a cheap way to have fun on a race track but that is far from the truth. I have a friend who runs Lemons events a few times a year. If you actually try and run a $500 car you results will look alot like what yor witnessed in that show. Lemons cars are real race cars that look like crap. More like a $10000 investment than a $500 investment. Race entry fees alone are in the $500-$600 range. Most guys are not going to drop that kind of cash and show up late with an under prepared car that breaks down. Hell a lot of those Lemons teams are made up of guys who wrench for real race teams for a day job. With that said I don't mind vehicle "destruction" as entertainment. The reality is most people do not value old cars. there are a lot of automotive enthuesist out there but as a percentage of the motoring public we are a minority. People dont want an old cell phone, old computer, old lawn mower, old TV or anything else old let alone a car. I have customers with 2004 cars that complain about it being an old car! So in a way taking an old car and repurposing it for one last moment of glory seems ok to me. Far more decent cars are crushed daily than are lost to some tv show shenanigans. Making it a race car is even better. It went from being a boring old grocery getter to being a RACE CAR! I don't concider prepping a car for racing destroying it. You figure an early 70's Chrysler for $200 was destined for the scrap yard. The only thing they did wrong was send it to the junk yard when they were done with it. That car easily had value as a race car to someone else who would be willing to invest the time and money to make it a competitive car. Those guys had no clue what they were getting into with the Lemons race. They even said that sending it to the yard was a first for them.
