I was reading through the copcar.com forums and pne thread caught my eye. Someone was asking about it and some members there made some good points. The two that really caught my eye were these: - Why would the production company buy cars from California and ship them to Illinois for a majority of the filming when they could buy from Chicago and just pray them? -Also, and this one really got me thinking. All of the restorations I've seen and the people on that site who live to reproduce CHP cars say that all the '74 Monaco's were ordered with 2 spotlights that would have been painted black, not left chrome. However, I don't recall ever seeing any open or filled looking holes on the passenger side. These two facts got me to thinking and I was wondering where the original info came about the former CHP "fact". I could see if they bought one in California for the Bob's scene and maybe just painted the rest to look like that. I don't know, any inputs?
