Today, I was monkeying around with my '75 Monaco and I encountered an issue with the fuel lines. I looked at the filter and, to my surprise, it has 3 prongs. I've never seen this before. Does anyone have any diagrams that show how the fuel system works or have any experience with this setup? I keep spare fuel filters on hand, but they're two-way ones and I don't know if they'll work.

Here's the one I encountered in the car; it's interesting to see this on a 400 engine. Attachments:

I'd say that's a diy installed filter. Maybe the ex-owner had fuel issues like I did and installed a return line(or just a breather lol) to it to keep the pressure steady.

LV, the 77 Royal 440 T code that gave its life for my Bluesmo had the 3 way fuel filter on it as well....the 3rd port was 1/4 size and went all the way back to the tank. I remember buying the replacements at Advanced auto parts and they actually had them in stock. Hope that helps.......Bluzman

So indeed it left the factory that way.....It was a "lean burn" 440 too...might have something to do with it.
