Here's a brand new offering from a guy in England. It's a 1:32 scale resin Monaco body, designed for the slot car hobby where 1:32 is a popular scale world wide. As such, it's just the body, probably not offered with chassis, wheels, or any other parts.
It's very high-tech, the master was rendered with the latest computer 3D rendering and printing technology. It would take some work to make it into a scale model, but the proportions look very good, and other slot car companies will probably step up with Bluesmobile and police car decal sets for it. Prices and shipping have not yet been announced, but I'll update when it is.
You're exactly right about it being rapid prototype material, that's the process I use. It's quite good for snap fit parts but because of the crashes that can happen I've used screws to hold the bearings in place, it's terrible when you have to glue the bearings in place so I didn't want that.
I don't use digital but I think you can wire in one of the chips quite easily to any analogue car? Because there are 4 different types of digital system I can't accommodate all systems! But there's plenty of room in the trunk
