Pop and I went to CEVS around 1:30PM, which we thought would be plenty of time to see the excitement before the show ended at 4PM. When pulling into the parking lot, the attendant said that CEVS was ending early, and pointed to the firetrucks and police cars that were all exiting. I asked about the 4PM end time, and he said to catch what we could as it was all ending early.
We saw a cool ISP seatbelt safety demo car, that had a motor that quickly rotated the front cab:
> To simulate a rollover accident, the cab is mechanically rotated,
> which causes the dummies to be ejected. The dummies are
> returned to the cab and secured with safety seat belts. Again,
> the cab is rotated and the dummies remain safely in the cab.

No blumos. No old cop cars. There were a few farm implements. I told dad that CEVS really went down hill from last year.
So we went to the hotel, and saw Sean's Fumonaco blumo (Fury / Monaco) in the parking lot, which reinforced our assessment that CEVS had ended early.
It turns out that dad and I were at the wrong place, and the parking guy gave us bad info. We were at the location of CEVS was held last year, which is not the usual location. CEVS this year returned to its usual location, with the EVOC course.
A huge storm hit in the afternoon, so Mt. Prospect car show was cancelled. Mysterywoman helped get our number out, and we hooked up with Sean, Tammy, and Nathan for a Fumonaco cruise to Golden Corral.
I made up some t-shirts for dad and me.
At dinner, I learned that Nathan / 76Bluesmobile used Ken's own CHP car to beat Ken's time in the EVOC course. Wicked!
Then Country Bunker prank called me that night. He called the hotel room, asking if I enjoyed the show and I said yes, and asked who was calling, and he said "Bob! You know, you boys owe me a lot of money for the beer you drank tonight". heh ehe.
Sunday, we followed Sean and Tammy and visited some sights on the way out of town from North Aurora back to Michigan / Arkansas. That put us out of TK's area; TK sorry I missed you at CEVS; I'll look forward to next year when we get the address right.
Here's the blumo pulling up the orphanage. There was a bike tour, and the guide was pointing out the orphanage from the Blues Brothers, and then he exclaimed that he couldn't have timed it any better as Sean drove up front, and the crowd broke into applause:
This shot just looked like a good gritty Chicago shot:
