Daniel Donian, was an uncredited stunt driver. he destroyed his back in that stunt. alot of behind the scenes picts. Man, sorry to hear about his injuries. Does he mind talking about his work in the movie? He's a true celebrity in our midst, but I wouldn't want to ask him questions that just brought back bad memories. Every once in a while I find some stunt info on the movie. I have this info for the Dixie Mall shoot: and it'll be cool to chat with Daniel and learn more about his role. alot of behind the scenes picts. Oh my goodness, I think I just peed my pants. Please see if you can talk him into bringing a photo album that we can look at while I buy him lunch. your friend in super-CEVS, arthur

Probably a good time to bring this map up... I created this map, a couple years ago, showing 28 filming locations in and around Chicago: maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=106620844107418192197.000489b62ea47b257f6a2&ct=docsearch&cd=2&cad=docsearch,cid:13751436404771302206 It starts at the old location of the CEVS (in Mooseheart) and finishes at the Blues Bar in Mt.Prospect. It's probably not practical to go from one end to another, on a Saturday, as it would take a few hours to complete and will bring you through downtown Chicago during some busy traffic times. But, it could be picked up anywhere along the way, on a Sunday morning, with little trouble.

This year was going to be tight for me to fit in CEVS, but I was telling my dad that Danial Donai, stunt driver for car 55 into the semi, was going to be there on Sunday helping show us filming locations, and not only did dad convince me that I had to go, dad's coming too, driving up from TX. Thanks for letting us know about your friend Danial, Sean. That puts an extra fun spin on CEVS. your friend in the spirit of the blues providing fun friends and family time, arthur

Dad and I plan to be at CEVS between noon and 1PM on Saturday, and then caravan with the group to Mt. Prospect for the car show and dinner, and then hang out all day Sunday with whatever movie location tour plan comes up.

Sent in my registration today. The parade will be for only emergency vehicles... Was looking forward to that Another good reason not to attend this year . Ohh, I think I misunderstood Sean's response. If I understand correctly now, Sean you saying that you sent in your registration for CEVS: From this CEVS page: www.emergencyvehicleshow.com/From this CEVS regsitration form: www.emergencyvehicleshow.com/2012_CEVS_Registration.pdfyou selected > On-Screen Emergency Vehicle (from TV and motion pictures) like this: to have your blumo at CEVS, and that's fine for CEVS itself. For the parade, the registration form says: Note: It is not necessary to register for Friday’s Lights & Sirens Parade / Emergency Vehicle Cruise Night or Sunday’s Emergency Vehicle Caravan / Lights & Sirens Parade / Auto Show. In order to better honor our public safety providers, the Friday and Sunday events are only for marked emergency vehicles and for unmarked government vehicles.
[red highlighting mine] What happened that made you write: > The parade will be for only emergency vehicles. Did you ask someone at CEVS and they told you that your blumo wasn't allowed, or did you read it on the form and interpret that as blumos not allowed? I think the blumo is a marked emergency vehicle replica. And if needed to be a replica of a real-life police car (and not movie police car), who's to say that your blumo isn't a 1974 Monaco CHP replica but you got some of the paint scheme wrong? I've mentioned that some of the CEVS cop guys don't really care for the blumos: > Interestingly, the monacos all got "V.I.P treatment" which meant parking > 1/2 mile away from all the other cars, hidden in a parking lot surrounded > by civilian vehicles. I'm still thinking this one through. bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=reunion&action=display&thread=44&page=4#ixzz21EzjeEbtBut the folks on the parade route loved the blumos! I say just show up at the parade meeting place and join in; that's what we did last year. Those cars weren't emergency vehicles on the road in-service today. And surely some of them were replicas. your friend in parading around, arthur
