It's for sure a 1976 Coronet but with a nose swap. The '75 and '76 Coronet had single round headlights on either side, like this example here (think Sheriff Little ) ... bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/2952/sold-1976-coronet-police-californiaSo someone put the nose from a '77 or '78 Monaco on to the '76 Cornet for sale at Copart. I can't recall ever seeing that before, as far as I know we've never posted a '75 or '76 Coronet with the nose from a '77 or '78 Monaco (or Fury). I reckon the person did that to eventually make a Rosco clone ? Now I wonder how many Rosco's at Dukesfest are actually Coronets with a nose swap ?

- I'm not sure what agency was using this color combo, let's just call it a Forestry Service car. Probably a CHP piggyback order (?) as the CHP did use the Dodge Coronet in 1975 and 1976, and they did use the B-body Monaco in 1977 and 1978. The color of the Monaco nose on this Coronet is an identical match so it seems like the Monaco nose was from an actual Forestry Service car as well. So I don't think the intention was to eventually create a Rosco clone as I previously thought might be what was happening here. By the late 70's they must have had this 1976 Coronet with a damaged nose, and a 1977 or '78 Monaco with a damaged rear and el-swaparino we now have a Coronet that looks like a Monaco. Something I'm sure we've never seen posted in our forums here or even going back to Blues Central. It kinda looks like such a swap would be as easy as plug and play but I dunno. Anyone here ever heard of anyone doing this kind of nose swap between these Coronet and Monaco B-bodies ? Well anyhoo I guess it didn't meet reserve because she's going again with 5 days and 18 hours to get your bid in. There are currently 0 bids. This is a WK41K police package Coronet but the K engine code is for the 360 2-bbl not the HP 360 4-bbl. Thanks for posting this one, TK, an interesting find for sure. And this car has keys , something you don't always see with Copart vehicles. - www.copart.com/lot/71729333/clean-title-1976-dodge-monaco-ca-sun-valley

"LOT SOLD" I missed the final bid. I seem to recall with less than 2 hours to go, or so, the high bid was $225 reserve not yet met.
