- Texas Parks and Wild Life Department, DM41P3Dxxxxxx with the Y39 special order tag, E68 400 4-bbl HP motor. This is a Polara Custom they figure might have been ordered with the cop stuff for the Game Warden. What cop stuff are you speaking of Steam? All the lights and siren stuff was added by the seller and are horribly period incorrect. The lightbar and decals are the sellers and is NOT for sale he places it atop all the cop cars he sells. The control box and puchbars along with the other equipment are too modern for the car's era. Texas Game wardens cars are ordered and equipped almost identical with Texas DPS cars standards. They are ordered piggy back and came with 400cu v8's plice package and a single spotlight. Both agencys only used only one red spotlight for warning/directive! Anything else would have to be added by the Officer out of pocket if he wanted to get fancy, not many got fancy! The incorrect era equipment looks rediculous to a purist like me.

What cop stuff are you speaking of Steam? I thought maybe the F19 amp, F58 welds. The F33 spot I assumed was the clear lens. So it could be ordered red instead of clear, same code? And I agree with you 100% about that particular lightbar on this car. I don't know about the period correctness of lightbars but the second I saw it it kinda horrified me, lol. It just looks wrong but I didn't want to say anything.

Hello Everyone.....I am new to this forum, but not to the world of police package cars. My first car was a 76 Gran Fury I purchased at auction back in 1983. That car started it all for me. I'll post a short bio of myself in the introduction board probably tomorrow.
This thread is what made me sign up as I do have a couple comments on this car. The fender tag does indeed show 3 fleet options, but it lacks the K in the VIN or A38 on the fender tag. The E68 400 HP engine, although used primarily by police/fire, was available to the public...however it was an educated person who knew which box to check. I might get shot down for this, but this specific car appears to be a retail car with a couple of cool options. I don't know about how Texas ordered thier state cars, but I have a hard time believing that Texas would have ordered this trim level with the E68 engine without the A38 or K police package....even for the big wigs.
