What kind of hood ornament is this ...? Obviously it's a '73 Monaco hood ornament.

- Posting deleted by author. So who scooped it Seller may have deleted the ad to fix the year info, and to add $1,500 to price based on interest received, lol. Or somebody scooped 'er.

Hey all, Me and my brother just picked this up yesterday. Been looking off and on for about 6yrs. The interior is pretty nice minus tears in the seats. Body has got it's share of scratches and dents with some rust under the vinyl. It is _really_ rotted around the cowl but everywhere else seems pretty darn solid so far. It's been leaking from the cowl into the cab so it stinks inside a bit and starting to rust pretty good on the floor. Car died on us on the way home sitting in traffic too. Was good to go again in about 30 minutes but it felt really hot. Started poking around a bit more at home and we found out stopleak was added to radiator . I need to get a temp gauge on it and see whats going on. Vacuum seems a bit low too (13 or 14), hopefully it's just one of the 9000 vacuum lines leaking. I'll be poking around the boards as the project goes! Lot of work ahead but it should be pretty sweet when it's done.

Me and my brother just picked this up yesterday. Awesome! The fact that you joined here would lead one to believe this is gonna be a Blumo Could you take a pic of that hood ornament, lol. My guess is it's a swan.

^ It could also be an eagle. The swan hood ornament is very popular, the ones I've seen most for sale are from Packards of the 1930's to 1950's range, and of course tons of custom ones. But I was just looking more at some eagle hood ornaments and a couple of them looked like they could be matches, tough call, hopefully oldcigarette will post a pic of it. It's a fair sized ornament that's for sure, maybe it came off a truck!
