Is that a 1974 Dodge Monaco 4-door sedan stealing the show?
Well, I got the magazine, and the pic above is a good representation of the detail available on the front cover. So no super-zoom ins for 1974 1/2 prototype jump bumper. But here's the blurb describing the scene:
Absolutely. Carnage on the roads, they see things we never, ever want to see and I salute them.
The CHP mag had some fairly graphic stuff.
Offered here is a very early publication from 1969 March volume three number one of the California highway patrolman magazine. The pictures on the cover and the pictures throughout the magazine are very graphic and I'm sure would not be allowed in this day and age. There are some very interesting articles and it seems like the problems they had back in the 60s we are still having today with drunk driving, speeding, just bad luck and unsafe driving practices. Looks like this magazine was sent to the neighborhood Texaco service Alameda in San Jose California. Measures 11" x 8.5"
There is indeed a graphic example at the link which I didn't post. Body on the highway stuff. Drunk driving has sure stood the test of time. With the pics, the CHP provenance, all the old ads, these magazines are actually pretty amazing.
