I know NOTHING about these bumperettes. The owner only knew that they were on the car when he got it and nothing more. Arthur, let your conspiracy theories begin again. Oooh, it's time to get some life back in the 74/75 prototype jump bumper theory! LV, are you saying: - the car pictured is a blumo - it's not yours - you're protecting the privacy of the owner by posting just the front bumper pics (which is great, I'm just verifying my understanding) Do you know if the owner bought the car as a civilian car, and turned it into a blumo, or bought the car already modified as a blumo? Do you know the year of the car? thanks, your friend in monaco oddities, arthur

It looks like there were two types of front bumperettes in 1974: - deluxe (that we're used to seeing, with the rubber strip on the forward edge of the bumperette) - non-deluxe (which is what I'm guessing are shown in LV's pics above) The parts catalog shows: guard (bumperette): is category 13-68-6 cushion (rubber strip on forward edge of bumperette): is category 16-68-18 There are two types of Dodge 16-68-6 guards: and the "cushion" is only shown for the deluxe bumperette: So it would seem to make sense that a guard without a cushion was a non-deluxe guard, and LV's pic show a non-deluxe guard, which was available (per the parts catalog) in 1974.

It's a '74 Monaco Wagon and I've tried to post as little to identify the vehicle's owner, yet show as much of the bumperettes as possible. Aside from repainting the hood and the front panel with the DODGE lettering in flat black, he's done next to nothing else to the car.

From what I can tell from the brochures, there is no selectable option for non-deluxe guards. The deluxe guards were option M85, and were required in California. They also came along for free with the A06 (Easy Order Package) and A08 (Luxury Equipment Package).
