I've done some calling around myself and have found that $1800 isn't out of range for most salvage yards (if they have some). One yard told me $1000 wouldn't even touch it. something that old and only made 1 and 2 yrs still in good shape is getting rare.
Finding a whole car is likely to be your best luck. get the parts you need, sell other parts, and scrap the rest.

I sold the front clip to a guy in Kansas for $1500....I am pretty sure he was a member on BBC...he was a truck driver driving a car transport I think. Anyways one of his buds lived near me and hauled the parts back to Kansas for him. He just picked them up a few months ago. I still have a set of 4 77 Royal doors (Power) that are rust free. Also the set of doors from the 76 Cop Royal (Manual), also rust free......Will consider some trading..I need a lower drivers side front door panel for a 74..(mine is trashed)..don't care about color as long as its nice. Also looking for a 74 grill and a 74 front bumper (complete) and of course another 140 mph speedo.....I have one..kind of in bad shape. also looking for a set of 440 HP manilfolds...I have one set that I got from Arthur..but need another for my spare 440 that I have. I plan to post some more small parts...but I want to make sure I have everything for my 74 first. -Bluzman
