Did anyone on here first see the BB movie as an edited TV version? That's how I first saw it as a kid. I had a couple of different edits taped from TV (on Beta!). As I remember, one had all the swears dubbed over, and the other one just had silence in those spots! I finally saw the movie for real when I was in 4th or 5th grade, when I got a commercial VHS copy as a reward for a good report card. Anyway, just lately I caught some of the movie on TV again. The dubs sounded familiar. I think they were the same as on one of the old Beta copies from TV -- and I think the voices were those of Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi. I'm surprised I didn't realize that back then. The particular "cut" of the film that's been on TV lately is just brutal. Besides the dubs, some shots with no dialogue are compressed/sped up, and others are just gone. Some of the cuts are just inexplicable. Here's the worst I saw, at Mrs. Torontino's house: Jake: Did they leave a forwarding address, phone number? Mrs. Torontino: Are you the police? Notice anything missing there?? Anybody have any memories they'd like to share of TV edits of the movie?

I don't think I've ever watched the entire movie on television. I started renting it when it arrived on Beta, and bought it when it arrived on VHS. I've seen bits of it on tv but was always bugged by the commercials, the editing for time, and of course the editing for language. I live close to the Quebec border so I get some french channels on basic cable. I don't really understand the french too much but the movie was on two weeks ago and I watched about 20 minutes of it, lol. It sounded like this ... - -
