I've also made an "executive decision" at this juncture, to go ahead and assemble the car without A/C, at this time. To be honest, the multiple (and hefty) costs of the parts needed to get this option done at this time, is keeping me from using the budgeted Blumo money for much more urgent needs, i.e., brakes, mounts, exhaust, getting the 440 in, etc. I know I'll need A/C by summer of next year (and I'm still going to use the brackets I got from Art to do it), but with 2 kids in college at this time, my 'fun money' is tight, and I'd rather spend it on items that will get me that much closer to cruising. Besides, fall and winter are approaching fast, so other than needing the heater for that, the A/C system isn't going to be missed by me right now. All that being said, I'm going to start on the brake system next, while the 440 is out of the car and I can maneuver it with my jacks; once that's done, I can push the car under my hoist and crank the big block into it's new home. Thanks, Joe....I've had the car for almost 4 years, and the resto has been a long time coming (too many other pressing projects). But, now that cooler (and hopefully drier) weather is on the way down here, I'm really hoping to get a lot more done on the car, and hopefully 2014 is my final target year to be cruisin'!

Rob, I hear ya man, Life happens. My car may be on the road but I have a long way to go to making it a true blumo. I think I read that yours is an Ex cop car with lots of cop stuff and now a bad ass 440. Cant wait till you get it in the car. Joe

Yeah, I'm hoping to get it in soon, as soon as I get the brake work done. I've got to figure out the 360-to-440 motor mount issue before I do, though...I'm going to try to do it without having to buy any fancy mounts or adapters.

Hey...it's good to hear from you, Joe! Nah....I've slowed down on the Blumo recently, mainly because I have to use my spare $$$ at this time of year, helping my kids pay college tuition and buy text books....I'm trying to spare them the burden of long-term loans, while trying to get an education.
Now that the weather around here is cooling down and drying up some, I'm going to at least try to get the 440 actually in the car, where it will be easier to work on...I've just gotta finish freshening up the brake system, and I can move on to that.
Don't let the hogs get the upper hand, Joe!

Hey, Joe...it's good to hear from you! I'm still in the hobby, but as you said, "life happens", and sadly, it's been a while since I've been able to work on the Blumo. Since we talked last, I've had to buy a few cars for my wife and kids, not to mention do some much-needed repair work and renovations on my home...stuff that demands most of my disposable income and time. I haven't given up on my car, but I've reached that point in my life where it has to take a back seat to more important issues; I've basically put it in 'cold storage', until such time I can devote more time and money towards its completion...but, I will eventually get it done, as it's one of my "bucket list" items and I plan on driving it to Chicago one day.
