I'l trying to arrange transport for an engine-less '74 Fury to use as an interior parts car and I figure that this thread could be of use to others.
Previously, I had one Monaco delivered by Scatpack and drove the other one home; however, now, I have to arrange shipping from Beach, SD to Waukesha, WI.
I'd like to have him transport this car, too, if I can arrange it.
Anyone have any trusted shipping companies that work for a reasonable price? Good experiences?

Unless Jürgen bought it then we'll mark it as sold. --- I noticed how it was shipped from MI to MN. It was done with uShip which I've never heard of. It looks like you post your car with starting and finishing location, and let people bid on the contract to ship it for you. Appears that the low bid was $661 which is less than a buck a mile. www.uship.com/shipment/1974-Dodge-Monaco-Blues-Brothers-Blues-M/864171904/ and I wrote: Wow; that sounds like a great way to ship a car. I'll dig into the details of this when I need to ship my blumo to Schwartz. Thanks for the tip, Steam. And 58hemifury wrote: U ship is scary, most "shippers" putting bids in are actually brokers who take your deposit before they look for a truck or company to ship. Once they have your money and you sign a contract you are stuck, sometimes for months while the seller of the item is sitting waiting, calling you, your item (and my nightmare was an engine) sat at the end of the guys driveway from the day of the supposed pick up for over a month while the shipping broker told me "we don't have any trucks in the area". My friend sat on a car for a year that he sold on ebay waiting for "a truck to be in the area". We're less than two hours from NYC, there are many trucks in the area. You can save money shopping around yourself, you don't need to pay a broker. JP Logistics out of CA is a great company, shipped my Amphicar from CA to NY enclosed for $1,750. George at JP is a hell of a nice guy, they haul for Bugatti, Laborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls Royce, ect. I'd pay a little more for that kind of service. Be careful, I've seen and had horror stories with these car shippers, and brokers don't care about anything but price. Adam

I liked worry-free-transport for their offer of: > and you can cancel and get your deposit back if they can't find > someone to ship it within 10 days.
and the two times I've used them, they've been able to find a shipper within 10 days.
For my shipment of broken-down parts-cars, using a broker to find a shipper seemed to make sense, as cost was the only deciding factor.
But I am thinking ahead to when I need to ship Marin County around, and I will actually care if it gets damaged during shipping. I don't know how to determine a good shipper from a bad shipper. I thought I'd look at the shipper ads in fancy car magazines and use that as a starting point for research.
