My first passion, like most everyone else on here, is obviously the Bluesmobile but I was wondering, if you were to build / buy or otherwise obsess over another movie car what would it be? I would either go for this The 87 Chrysler LeBaron turbo convertable from Planes Trains and Automobiles, simply because it is an oddball, kind of like the Monaco, I love telling people I am restoring a 1974 Dodge Monaco. They either get a funny look, like why?? Or they know immediately what I am doing. The old LeBaron could also be had for reasonable money. Or I would go for this The Interceptor from Road Warrior, simply because it is bad ass. I think it would be super difficult and expensive to find and build.

If money wasn't a concern, Millners Deuce Coupe: or Ecto-1, but good luck finding a '59 Cadillac Miller-Meteor end-loader hearse!: However, on a realistic budget for myself, either a 1976 AMC Pacer from Waynes World: Or (and I know this is blasphemous on sites dealing with American muscle but, the Eclipse from the Fast and the Furious: Keep in mind this is IF I decide to keep making movie cars for whatever reason instead of saving for a house or something else more logical, haha. And the last two are, again, what I feel I could legitimately afford if I wanted to do another movie car... Also, these cars are all instantly recognizable, except maybe Milners coupe. The Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am is cool, but there's nothing that sets it apart from a stock T/A, same with countless other movie cars, I'm also with 177Elwood on the whole General thing. It's a badass car and all, but you can't go 3 days without seeing a few pop up on ebay, just too many around imho...

How about Curtis' car: Did they use a 1962 black Cadillac flatbed flower transporter in the movie? Here's some info on a flower transporter: -------------- Mike Jeffries owns the club's rarest car, a '54 Cadillac Coupe de Fleur. Unlike a regular hearse, with its massive canopy, his car has a flat bed like you'd find on a Chevy El Camino. The vehicle transported flowers and served as a backup hearse if the regular one broke down. "This car took me more than a decade to find," says Jeffries, who attended the rally with his school-age daughter. "The reason these cars are so scarce is that they were only sold to funeral homes that had already bought a certain number of hearses from the conversion company. It was sort of thrown in as a bonus." -------------- extras.denverpost.com/life/hearse0402.htmSo the script called for the blumo being a Fury, and the movie used a Monaco instead, but it seems that the script called for an ultra-rare Cadillac hearse flatbed flower transporter, and the movie actually had it. your friend in other movie cars, including some that are in the same movie, arthur

Good stuff guys and gals!
I agree that a General Lee does not do much for me, but the yellow DM,CL Charger would be sweet.
For some reason ECTO 1 never really hit home with me either, I liked the movie but never felt drawn to the car. I think I like movie cars that have more of a "supporting roll" if that makes sense, where the car is almost like a character of the movie.
I think a Bandit TA would be sweet if I just had money and a huge garage to store it in. Those things bring big money these days. I actually has an 81 for a brief moment in time. It looked close to the movie car but not close enough for my taste. Kind of like having a hard top Blumo, a damn nice car but not correct enough for me to get crazy with it.
Can't go wrong with Christine, although not at the top of my list it would be a super cool car to own.
Arthur, I never thought of Curtis' car. That Caddy is definitely an odd ball, and exactly the kind of car that makes people go.....why? I don't think it ever got enough screen time that people would reconigize it from the movie, but it would turn heads. I'd buy one.
Fast and the Furious cars would be good bang for the buck. Easy to buy, people easily reconigize what it is...... I could see that.
The Bullet Mustang is always a top pick but I would change it up and go for the bad guy black charger chase car.
No BTTF or Knight Rider?

And this totaly unknown Aussie Ford Falcon . Yes thats me on the drivers side . Badass! Where did you see that thing? Was that a functional blower? I just recently saw a Dyer Blower kit on Craigslist new in the box with carbs and it was like $6000! My old man had a 71 Camaro with a small block and a 671 Dyer Blower on it, the sound of that thing was wicked, and the torque was incredible on the street.

More Planes Trains and Automobiles
It would be cool to do the car up all burnt and crispy, deck lid in the back seat and a big trunk in the ........ trunk.

I haven't ever cared about Christine, when I'm thinkin bout forward lookers, it's '59 Desoto with '59 Dodge's frontclip(2dht and maybe chopped 2-3"). Of course I've loved Vanishing point Challenger, Bullit Charger, American graffiti '55 Chevy, BTTF DeLorean(until I found out it had an Volvo v6, that was a huge disappontment for a 9 year old), KARR(way much cooler than KITT), Miami Vice Ferrari(hated the Testarossa) + green Dodge van, Gumball rally AC Cobra(+ the ferrari, but mv had better color), Kübelwagen from various ww2 movies and there's more which I can't remember. Cannonball runs had nice vehicles too and Bond had nice cars, DB6 especially. Mad max's blown Ford is really cool, but the stock look for Falcon is boring. Blumo is of course #1 and will always be. Number 2 is this: But it should be '79 because that's my year. edit. almost forgot number 3 which is the '64 Malibu from Repo man(only car in the world that is led-lighting approved)

I would love to have the star car from "The Sugarland Express" (Texas Highway Patrol)... There was a '73 Polara very near me several years ago, but I hadn't seen the movie yet! I think Burton Mercer's car was also a '73 Polara... Then there's the early '80s Crown Vic from "Dragnet" (the movie)... As for the year of Curtis' Cadillac, I believe it was a '67 or '68 (as was the band's Cadillac).

I had one of these 10 yrs ago , but mine was a half ton short box . Would like to make this version , which is funny in the movie "Cannonball run" it had a tan interior , which mine had a light grey "hounds tooth" pattern . I'll put a pic after this one , since I still cant figure out how to put in multiple shots . Attachments:
