Our 74-77 c-body speedo faces fade yellow over time, and tend to look like this:
instead of like this:
The blumo speedo seems to be the one thing that was in great shape and hard to replicate.
The Monaco speedos are not metal backed. They are plastic, with an overlay, and light bulbs from behind illuminate through the plastic:

Then Monaco74 had this post:

> pimp out their ride. My idea is to get a hold of this company and see if

And then we had a post by a company offering their services:

and, as far as I know, nobody got back in touch with him. I think one of the concerns was the green and blue and red colored areas (such as the turn signals and high beams and idiot lights).
When I got a quote from Bruce, he was talking about the extra complexity in screening several colors. But later, Lord Vadus showed me that the plastic overlay was just a single color. The extra colors for turn signals and idiot lights were just translucent colored tape over a blank spot in the overlay.
So we could do a speedo restoration by:
1) removing the faded overlay, and getting down to just the clear hard plastic speedo face.
2) install a new overlay
3) install colored tape for the turn signals and such
Lord Vadus was even talking about removing the overlay on his 14o speedo, and then carefully scraping away the yellowed portion, and then gluing it back. Sounds possible!
And then Jenny found that Monaco white overlay guy on e-bay:

So now that we know that a single colored overlay would work (with us installing translucent colored plastic for the turn signals and such), this might be a good option for those wishing to replicate a 14o mph speedo.
