Looks like that the spring has been cancelled this year so I'm going to have to wait even longer to start working with the car. Have to wait the snow to melt to even get there and we're still experiencing minus degrees 24/7. Here's what I've bought from finland. Only new parts are the pushrods on the box, so the rest is just junk that needs some work or emergency situation spares:

There's the good B-intake and the project RB-intake(from '67), just some rust inside and awful color of course. Here's an innovation with two engines. 1,3litre on the front & 455 olds with blower at the back. www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=46458

So. Last friday I went to visit the car with intentions to get it out of the storage hole. Everything was just like when I left it there, not even mold on the steering wheel or any new bad odors. Anyway, put the battery in and it started with the first attempt, which was nice. But then I got a call from my cabin's neighbor guy that mrs. cabin neighbor had just died so I left the Monaco and went straight to the cabin to check what's happening there(and I got there before the cops did). Natural cause/disease, so no extra drama besides that death bit. RIP neighbor.

Oh wow. Good news on the Monaco, but the neighbor news puts things in perspective. RIP Mrs. Neighbor.

Ok, last weekend was very busy with the cabin stuff and I will be busy with the works there so the Monaco time is very limited. Maybe I'll get that rear quarter hole welded this or next week.. Or not. The big shipment of parts should arrive "soon", so I have something to play with at home too. Bought an engine lifter, holley 4011 carb + repair kit, new cap + the thing that goes round to that source distibutor, engine gasket kit & Don Taylor's bbmopar book. Here's an ex out house seat burning at the cabin. We killed the old shack and are going to build a new, small house there. Attachments:

& Don Taylor's bbmopar book. This looks pretty good: > Big-Block Mopar Engines (How to Rebuild) > by Don Taylor I think I'll get a copy. I got these when I was first thinking about what motor to use: > How to Build Max-Performance Mopar Big-Blocks [Paperback] > Andy Finkbeiner (Author) > Big Block Mopar Performance - High Performance and Racing > Modifications for B & RB Series Engines [Paperback] > Chuck Senatore (Author) Congrats on planning for a new vacation cabin!

It's just a small warehouse next to the actual cabin which can be used for sleeping etc. Doesn't need building license, because of it's size. I've been thinking of getting a pop-top ramcharger(for a long time actually) and selling the van + seeing forsaz's chp-vehicle's pics didn't help much... Why do I have to be so childish with this car stuff.

Still waiting the parts and time to play with the Monaco. But that cabin thing keeps me busy, or the wife actually. She said last week that we need a "terrace" to the yard so I did one. Needs some saw + few supports and then I can call it ready.

Found this while cleaning the garage, I was at the kickpanel/glovebox/ashtray-pile and it included an march 1980 issue of reader's digest: Nothing special, just haven't noticed one of these before on this forum

Nothing special, just haven't noticed one of these before on this forum That's a neat find. And a that's a serious rule regarding warranty coverage: > Maintenance service receipts ... are required to obtain the annual > warranty validation. You must present these receipts ... once a > year on the anniversary of delivery ... for continuing warranty > coverage.

"date correct" casting number That motor does look pretty sad, but I think it's smiling on the inside about it getting up and running. So you have a > 3698830-440 (1973-74) www.440source.com/blockinfo.htm440 block, and a manual transmission - that never came in a Monaco - but is going in a Monaco! This manual transmission idea is pretty cool; I look forward to the build progress. That setup could even be blumo approved, as "Motorhead" Elwood would do something like that.

+1 sad motor Here's a pic of SD's motor as I received it in Marin County: I spoke with SD yesterday, asking him about posting that he got Marin County's motor, and it seemed that he was protecting my privacy. But I want to share the word, as I'm ecstatic about the great dealing with SD, and excited that he can make that motor live, breathe, and jump again.
