Here's a brand new offering from a guy in England. It's a 1:32 scale resin Monaco body, designed for the slot car hobby where 1:32 is a popular scale world wide. As such, it's just the body, probably not offered with chassis, wheels, or any other parts. It's very high-tech, the master was rendered with the latest computer 3D rendering and printing technology. It would take some work to make it into a scale model, but the proportions look very good, and other slot car companies will probably step up with Bluesmobile and police car decal sets for it. Prices and shipping have not yet been announced, but I'll update when it is. -AZB

That would be me! You're almost right that it's just the body, there are windows, a simple vacform interior and resin Jake & Elwood, and the correct wheel centres which fit on standard slot car wheels. The model was created in 3D and I'm putting it on my slot car chassis which steers and leans in corners. Here it was a couple of months ago And here it is last week Interior and graphics to do next. The first car I did was a '77 Monaco You can see it on the track, leaning like a '70s sedan should do here

That's some fine work indeed. Coolest slot car Blumo in existence . Loved the slot car Rosco vid, looked like aside from the leaning, Rosco was coming out of the corners with a bit of a drift. Great stuff.

What kind of chassis are you using for these? Or is it something you custom built?
How much for you to make me one of these? I have a good size 1:32 Carerra digital layout in the basement. A Blumo would be a great addition to the collection.

The chassis is custom built from laser sintered nylon, it's very tough and I can build in the steering and suspension I want - American sedans shouldn't corner flat like a racing car! Chassis parts are here Steering mechanism looks like this, 2mm brass pins for all the linkages Motor and rear axle fit together in one unit and the whole lot pivots in the chassis No problem to make you one, once I've finished this build to check everything's ok with the design

I thought that looked like the material that comes out of a rapid prototype machine.
Very nice engineering. Do you do a lot of slot car stuff? I would love to try and retrofit a digital chip into one of your cars.
What are the long screws for that run across the top of the axle? Are those to retain the axle bushings into the chassis?

You're exactly right about it being rapid prototype material, that's the process I use. It's quite good for snap fit parts but because of the crashes that can happen I've used screws to hold the bearings in place, it's terrible when you have to glue the bearings in place so I didn't want that.
I don't use digital but I think you can wire in one of the chips quite easily to any analogue car? Because there are 4 different types of digital system I can't accommodate all systems! But there's plenty of room in the trunk

On the track at last! It showed up that the springs aren't soft enough and it's a little snug for space under the interior tray so the motor capacitor fouls it. Back to the garage - I'll get there!

Graphics on at last! I couldn't face getting them as messy as in the movie so they're only a little dirty.
