The phone number stencils and police on the trunk are the same style,(TK826) two piece stencils, one for brown or tan and one for white. The same treatment for these, any tan and brown and white you might have and knock it down with 1000 grit then cover it with semi flat black until you are happy. You can always do them over if it all goes wrong, but it won't. In the movie the drivers side phone numbers always seem to have the two dots that you see in bright white, they just always seem to stick out to me, so I left them white and did not cover them over with black. The police stencil on the trunk I did like the Nazi bridge scene as you don't see the I in police, as well as I didn't want the local police to have any reason to say I was impersonating a police officer by having the full word police on the car. Once the police on the trunk was painted and sanded, I completely covered the I with black paint, there is not much of it to begin with, but making it disappear I felt like no one could give me a hassle over it. The 178/6 I just did in white and covered it with semi flat black. Again I can't recommend TK826 Damien's stencils highly enough. Slide on down and give him a PM if your car could use some stencilin' up!

By sanding with 1000 grip, as you saying to wet sand with the sandpaper in a block? And then let it dry and shoot again if needed? your friend in helping the paint-tip-challenged, arthur

Yes sir, wet sand with 1000 grit wet/dry fine sandpaper. I just free handed it without a block. I soaked the paper in a bucket with a little dish soap in it. Give the paper at least 15 mins to soak, you can tear several pieces from one piece of sandpaper and fold it over a couple of times to give you several sides to work from. If you were wet sanding the car to take out orange peel and buff it you would want to block wet sand it, but in this case you just want to take the edges off the lettering and blend the edges of the different colors. Because the car was shot with a satin black the paint is a little shinier where it was wet sanded. Ultimately you want it to look like you tried to remove the lettering from the car but just kind of gave up. The black misted over the areas just gives it a more old weathered look and blends the markings back in with the rest of the car.

Old cracked windshield coming out. Old windshield out, cleaning up surround and getting gasket tape installed. New windshield going in, DW823GBN Pilkington $230.00, $338.80 total, installed by local glass co. AHHH, I can see!!! I will say there is a difference in the thickness of the new glass verses old glass. The old glass is thicker and heavier and the new glass is thinner in it's laminations and several pounds lighter. No fitment issues caused by it though.

One more question about the flooring, now that we're back on it, does it come with a reinforced heel/kick-pad area? I can't tell from the other pictures you've posted...

Hi Legendary, No, the flooring does not have a reinforced heel or kick-pad area. You can kind of see a shot of it that I just put on here with the side shot of the radio rack taken from the drivers side. I may put some more insulation under that floor area as it gets pretty hot from the exhaust running underneath it. This may change once I get the exhaust redone, right now it is a bit too close to the floor and after awhile of driving I feel like I need one of those Nascar heel booties.

Dash Trash. I tried to keep it as close to the movie as possible except for the window stickers. ;D I used two 1970's Bud cans, they are made of steel and are stuck to the dash with small round magnets, so they stay where I put them, no sliding around during any crazy maneuvers. The red and white wrapper is printed from Google images. Just look up red and white gingham and pick a shade and size you like and print it off. I wrapped up a small can with it like a biscuit, removed the can and then crumpled it up and stuffed it up buy the window. The cards are from the BBC link to a file that you can print up. The cigarette butts and peanut shells and crumpled Chesterfields are randomly thrown in from different screen shots. The Blessed Shroud decal is from JKNLWUD from the BBC. The Ray's Music Exchange on the back window is from TK826.
