The '75, now owned by Ghostbluesman, originally had a straight vinyl bench seat.
It was switched out before he bought it.

As a note, the headresets on bench seats are actually flexible plastic, with an imprinted design to make them look like they are vinyl covered. I like the following seat set (looks like a taxi setup), other than its vinyl covered headrests: from: www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/9504-bluesmobile-seat-style/page__view__findpost__p__115002from: www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/6101-bluesmobile-sightings/page__view__findpost__p__114995from: www2.u-netsurf.ne.jp/~speednut/------------ Regarding the seam on the blumo moving around (on the back of the front seat) It appears to be just sloppy tolerances by Ma Mopar. I believe that all seat styles (for a given body type, at least for a given color) had the rear seam in the same place. The parts catalog has 6 pages on seat styles for the Monaco. pic 1 is an example. I believe this page shows that the seat styles shown on that page were available only on DH 23-41-43 DH is custom. 41 is a 4-door sedan. Then if you continue in the catalog to pic 2 it shows that for a 4-door sedan, for a particular color, part (2) is the same for all seat styles. I think this shows that for a given body style, for a given color, regardless of the style shown on the front, the part for the upper long horizontal strip on the back was the same. So the seam moving around is just tolerances, not an indication of a different seat style on the front. At least I think that's the case; I didn't spend a lot of time on it. Just throwing it out there. Sadly, the parts catalog didn't show seat styles for police or taxi body styles. Mendocino County has taxi style seats, I know it's a Gran Fury not a Monaco but if it was available in one most likely it'd be available in the other.

Damn....you know more about my car, than I do, tk! ;D I need to get with you via PM and write a bio of my '75, before I got it from Huey! Although this post is almost a year old, I just now found the time to read it...seems like I learn something new about my own car every time I come on here! (it's a little scary, actually... ) Rob ;D

In some shots above, the blumo seems to have designless (flat) all-vinyl seats. Although designless all-vinyl seats were not an option for the 74 Dodge Monaco (police or civilian), the it looks like the police 1980 Dodge St Regis came with them: from bluesmobiles.proboards.com/post/12502 Might be a good pattern for replica blumo seat styling.

My '75 Gran Fury Police has designless vinyl seats (original) so I would have to assume somehow a Monaco could have them in '74. Wasn't it available in taxis?

Wasn't it available in taxis? You are so right! I forgot about taxis. Here is the section out of the 74 and 75 dodge taxi brochures: from www.74monaco.com/docs.htmAnd I forgot about your 75 cop fury! I now remember the split front bench seat, designless vinyl seats: from bluesmobiles.proboards.com/post/6994We know that taxis had "durable heavy-grade, canvas-backed all-vinyl upholstery". And we know that cops sometimes got it (as shown in your 75 cop fury). All good food for thought, thanks!

One thing I noticed is the taxi seats don't have the chrome trim on the bottom sides in the brochures but my Gran Fury does, even though it has the cheap plain "taxi" vinyl.
