Currently the truck is sitting in GA. Im working on trying to get her back. Once I do I have to figure out whats going on with her. My last hope is that the water pump went, and it is fixable. If a head gasket went Im looking at a $1200-1500 repair bill, and thats if it is just the gasket, usually if the gaskets go the heads tend to crack.. So whos knows.. I'm not holding my breath, and expecting the worse. For now the bluesmobile is back into everyday use! Poor old girl has saved me from my trucks breaking down all the time lol. I did get to put a couple of my new goodies from jeff in yesterday. Got the rear deff switch in. At first the light would not light up behind it. I figured the bulb must be bad, and just put it back together.. Last night driving around the light decided to work! Maybe my lucks turning around?? haha The finishing touch is the black handle for the slide lever for the heat-a/c controller Jeff had a few heat, a/c control units, and was kind enough to let me take one of the handles. Its been an interesting few weeks...

I'm glad you made it home, that was a heck of a trip!! Thanks for stopping off for a visit on your epic Mopar journey, it was nice to meet you and hang out for a bit. The part installs are looking good. Sorry to hear about the truck engine issues, let me know if I can help in any way, where in GA is it?

Thanks jeff! I appreciate the offer! The truck is home now. Had a car transport company get it and bring it down here to me. Tore the top of the motor apart, and did a compression test on it. The drivers side head/head gasket is blown. All the cylinders were between 165-175psi, except the 2nd cylinder from the front on the drivers side, that one was at 110. So the truck is gonna be sitting a while..
Thanks for the kind words Jenny! Welcome to the forum by the way! I never did make it to your introduction thread yet, but did see your car thread! Can't wait to see some pics of the car, and a build thread! You gonna go the bluesmobile route, or another route??

Pulled the car into the garage the last couple days. Had a couple days off, so figured I would mess around with what needed some attention. The car had a lot of vibration noise in the interior on the drivers side. Some due to loose/missing screws, and also when I put the new door on a while back, the rubber/styrofoam tape around the corners of the upper door panel fell off, so the door panel rattled quite a bit. So pulled all of the driver side interior pieces off, replaced the tape for the door panels, with new tape, and replaced some missing screws. yada yada yada. Car goes down the road as quiet as the day she rolled off the line lol. The drivers rear door was stuck. The door would'nt unlock, and if you could get it unlocked it was a P.I.T.A to get open. So that door came apart, and pulled the latch. It was gumed up. Gave it a bath, and some new grease, and good as new. Both driver side door window tracks got a cleaning, and new grease treatment. No more squeals, and chirps when moving. Lastley, the brakes. The car was starting to sound like a city bus whe stopping. Just a squeling away. Got some disc brake quiet goo for the front. Also pulled the rear drums, and sanded them. Now that the brakes are quiet, you can hear the wheel cylinders in the back chirp when the brakes are applied... I'll deal with that later! lol Last night, and today was spent making props for the car. Thanks to Damian (TK826) and the paper prop thread- bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=props&action=display&thread=828I got some business card paper, and printed off my copies. Also printed off the bill of sale paper, and had it, as well as the credit cards laminated. I made the chesterfield packs today, from the wrappers I got from jeff (blusmbl) I'll make a new thread on em in the props forum. Jeff I still havnt got up enough courage to smash the budweiser can! It's in such good shape!! haha Ill try and do it sunday!

Finally had enough of the paint. The black has been going gray for the last year. Really started going bad when I brought it down to the sunshine state! So I figure while I'm waiting for my fender to show up, I'd start on the body/paint work. Im hoping to get this done somewhat quick, as the car is my daily driver at the moment. Plus I wanna try and hit the turkey rod run in daytona, as well as a show in December. So hopefully within 2 weeks she will be good to go! Started pulling trim, and pieces today. The roof is all sanded down, with some primer, and awaiting a final sanding, and then paint. Then moved on to the rear. My rear bumpber is stuck on (bolts are so damn rusty) I can't get the damn filler panel out! What to do... anyone know of a way to get the filler panel out, without taking the bumper out? After the roof moved onto the driver side quarter. It is about half done at the moment. Once I get the quarter panels, rocker panels, and roof straight, gonna pull the doors. Hopefully this will be done this weekend.

Holy!!!! You don't mess around! I thought your car looked great the way it was. I guess you have to look at it every day so I'm sure you see all the flaws differently than we do. Good luck with it. It's probably good that it is your dialy driver, that way you have to keep the project on schedule.

To remove the bumper filler with out breaking it is to remove the rear bumper completley. I tried it on my car and broke mine

Holy!!!! You don't mess around! I thought your car looked great the way it was. No kidding. The last few times I've seen Country's car, he told me how he wanted to improve things, and I kept saying "it looks perfect!". And with all this work, it's going to look ever more perfect. Nice work, Country.

Thanks guys! lol Well, on top of the car needing a repaint. With the new fender coming, the paint wouldnt match anywhase. Idk though... im loosing motivation! haha Been out in the garage the last few days. Woke up this morning not wanting to go back out haha. But..... I did get the roof done last night! Sprayed it around 10pm, and with a few headaches managed to get 7/8 coats on. Pulled it out this morning to let it bake in the sun. Now the clouds are gathering though. Hopefully the rain holds out. I dont have much room to work with, with the doors and other parts everywhere. Working on the drivers door now. I forgot what a PITA the weather stripping is to get off. Might cheap out, and just mask around it. Hopefully the doors will be ready today. Also hope I get to spray the rest of the body. But dont think thats gonna happen.

Movin right along! It looks good. My car is just the opposite, my black is hot rod black and the white is gloss. They are pretty different. If I have to, I plan on wet sanding the white to cut the gloss a bit. I plan on letting it age and weather a bit first before making a decision.
