Really, I don't want to pay more than $50.00 for the model and the Craigslist one with the broken antenna is a bit of a deterrent. If this auction goes too far out of hand, though, I may resort to that ad. We'll see.

The antenna is just a straight piece of wire which could be easily duplicated with a piece of piano wire or a sewing pin. But to make it screen-accurate, you could use thinner wire and make it look like the bent coat hanger on the movie car.

Interesting. I may go that route if the auction goes too high. I've never seen one in person, so it was hard to say.

The bidding on that one went beyond what I was willing to pay for it, and the Craigslist one would have been too expensive if I had to drive to get it. Instead, I purchased one from the UK for $61.68. It was the best price I could find.

I purchased one from the UK Good stuff, LV. I'm familiar with those folks in the UK. You were probably wondering why the shipping was so cheap and it's because they glue the box to a sheet of styrofoam and attach a sail to the box. They'll staple a label to the sail which will look like this ... ... and then they push it out into the ocean. Sooooo, be patient. ;D

Thankfully I'm in no real hurry and my primary concern is receiving the model I want so that I can display it with my completed car next summer.

I just received mine today; from England, and I must say that I'm extremely disappointed in the quality. It is clearly modeled after a civilian car; hence the 120 speedometer and bumperettes. The motor also appears to be a 360 due to various giveaways; radiator, air cleaner, cruise control module, etc. Now I won't feel so bad about painting it to match my replica.

Nice. I'm mostly pleased to have a model for car shows; when my car is finished, that is. The main thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the car still wears bumperettes. I've since removed them from both of my cars and I think that it really improves the look of the rear end; the front, I'm undecided with, but they're not going back on.
Granted, I tend to be disappointed with most model cars. My Sunstar DeLorean is the worst. It has a warped air dam, aftermarket stereo, and several other changes.

I've seriously considered an engine swap I know of a couple out there that might work... (I'm sure a few modifications would make them look even more correct) ... Of course you will need to find a 1:18 hoist to drop it in. Ahh, that's cool. That'd be a great detail upgrade.

Thought I should take mine out , usually have them off the stands but it stops the kids from rolling them around . Think I might find my S&H Torino and put the light kit in it from the bay . Attachments:
