On BBC, in my Marin County thread, I wrote about the "cable-x" option: ---------------- I'm ultimately going to be using the 4L80E electronic pulses to drive a cable-x www.abbott-tach.com/cablex.htmwhich will drive the speedo cable. It has a cool feature to test the speedometer and odometer: > After switch #11 is closed, the speedometer will run at a speed of 60 MPH for > 20 seconds. The vehicle odometer will advance a little over 0.3 miles. www.atrol.com/speedometer/cablex_calibration_chart_print.htmI'm planning on mounting the cable-x in the engine compartment. There's enough room behind the dash, but I don't want any motor "whirring" to be heard when driving along. That would ruin the ambiance of a 1974 police car. ---------------- The Feb 2012 issue of Mopar Action lists another option - the TCI speedo control unit: But there's a fly in the ointment: I got my cable-x from Bruce at Bob's speedometer: www.bobsspeedometer.com/1/120/index.aspBruce is the owner; Bob was his dad. I got it without a drive cable. We agreed that whenever I got it installed, they'd make me a cable that I needed. They'll probably forget about me by the time that happens, but at least there's a source for making cables of whatever you need. your friend in screen accurate speedos even with a non-stock transmission, arthur
