I sure would like to find out what this is all about. From the July 26, 1980 issue of "Billboard" Magazine:

Wow. I don't know what to think about that. It sounds like it might have been one of the jump cars. ? Ok, so who's gonna contact WEA? lol. They're now called WMG, Warner Music Group. I wonder if either of those dudes is still around? Amazing find, TK.

I'd pretty much dismiss the whole thing but mention a bar reinforcement? Maybe that's BS too, to make you think its a jump car, but no jump car would have been worth the damn after that, no?
I'm not sure what to make of it, but it's neat to see.

Remember Robert K. Weiss wrote: I was never completely convinced that was the real Robert K. Weiss. The Bluesmobile allegedly given away in a radio promotion, if true, was probably one of the models. Whatever Spence and Katz were driving doesn't sound like it had anything to do with a radio promotion. Dunno. Are you going to continue your investigative work, Arthur, and track one of those guys down? Somebody, somewhere, has a pic of that car. This Blumo could have had metal reinforcement ... It's so crazy that after all these years of us surfin' da net, another lead pops up. I remember Huey mentioning that he asked Dan in person and Dan told him there were no survivors. We know of a couple (or more) of the models but no actual cars.

But, I mean, how many of them visited you, or even wrote you, huh? I know, they're not the kinda guys who write letters. I put out some feelers, and will keep you posted if anything pops up. It also doesn't explicitly state this was a film-used car (though of course that's implied), it still could'a been a replica done for a publicity tie-in perhaps...? Certainly not a fan replica that close after the opening....

Could've been a fan driving around in an ex-cop car that was capitalizing on the fame. I've also learned that a lot of people wouldn't have known the difference between a Monaco and a Fury, so there's a slim chance it's coincidence if we're going to cover all the angles.

Here's a reference for Mike Spence at WEA CLEVELAND... It looks like another lead has departed us: from Billboard magazine, April 9, 1994.

Are you going to continue your investigative work, Arthur, and track one of those guys down? We're looking for a pic of "the Bluesmobile" which showed up at the: 11th annual Stark Records & Tape Service convention July 1980, North Canton, Ohio ----------- I figured I'd start at the top. Paul David started Stark Records and then later it sold it when it became Camelot Music. www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/camelot-music-inc-history/Paul and his wife setup a foundation > ...whose primary mission is to improve education, community, and > health opportunities for disadvantaged children in Stark County, > Ohio. davidfoundation.org/So that was a great lead! I've been in contact with the foundation, and I think they've done a bang-up job trying to help, but sadly, they have no photos or info of this car. Somebody, somewhere, has a pic of that car. Somebody, please contact me, as I'm having a hard time locating you.
