Introducing the 2000 Kenworth W900L formerly owned by Dan Aykroyd
The truck was originally owned by M.C. Van Kampen Trucking out of Michigan and at some point not long after, it became a "Blues Brothers" tour truck and was owned by Aykroyd for about three years. The side of the sleeper features a nod to the truck's "Blues Brothers" history that has unfortunately faded over time.
The paint scheme features black with gold flakes as the primary color, coupled with gold, silver and purple stripes. Lee explains that the silver on the stripes used to be a luminescent paint matching the fenders, but it was hard to find when repainting, so now it's just a normal silver.
Somewhere along the way after the 3 years that it was used as a Blues Brothers tour truck and Dan no longer owned it, it found its way to a barn. The current owner (a nephew of the original owner) found it in the barn in 2018 and it's been back to work ever since, still sporting the BB logo ! If you're ever in Poquoson, Virginia keep an eye out for it. And if you saw Elwood and Zee in concert sometime in the mid-2000's you may have seen this truck parked at the venue.
