Hi All! I‘ve read the few posts on here about how to install the factory oil pressure-temp gauge but still have a couple questions.. I’ve purchased the correct sending units for both and reading the factory wiring diagram the sending units use the same wiring (grey for oil pressure and violet for temperature) from the engine compartment to the dash cluster.
Questions:
1. What is the preferred installation method, running new wires to the sending units or tapping into the factory wires?
2. On my dash cluster I have two grey connections going to the circuit board, one probably to the idiot light and one for the gauge harness to plug and play I’m assuming. Of course I can’t find a spare violet terminal, but I’ve traced two violet wires, so I’m hoping someone at the factory taped it up. If I can’t find it, I’m assuming I can cut the violet wire and splice it to the gauge harness?
Thoughts?
