Story time! In high school, I found an old Mopar key at the train station. It's been sitting on my dresser next to my Bluesmobile models and general Dodge paraphernalia for about 12 years. Well when I bought my Monaco, it only came with one key. One of those knock off Chrysler dupes you get as a spare. So I thought I'd give that key on my dresser a shot and wouldn't you know, it opens the doors and starts the car? Now I've noticed that the key has a '500' stamped in it. Does that mean the key was for a '69 Charger 500? If that's the case, I've got one hell of a lucky streak! Attachments:

Sorry but no on the Charger 500 thing, there are only so many cuts they use for keys so a good coincidence that it fits your car. I went to school with 2 friends that had Chevys with the same key cut, a van and a Vega and those guys would always move each others cars and hide them on each other.

Does that mean the key was for a '69 Charger 500? How about a Monaco 500 ? I think it was three years production only for the Monaco 500, 1967-69.

Finally getting this show on the road! Got the 400 and tranny pulled, engine bay pressure washed... Texas sand was caked all over everything. We found a little pile of goodies in the tranny pan, so my buddy and I will be swapping the tailshafts on my Monaco's and the spare rebuilt 727 I had. Giving him the 400 for his work. We swapped oil pans and everything I would need to make my 440 work in a Monaco. Got some brackets and the A/C compressor off my truck, she won't be needing them for a while... Everything under the hood of the Monaco will be clean and freshly painted and NOS (within reason)
