SOLD - 1977 Gran Fury PK41U (Washington/New York)

1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Montana Highway Patrol U-Code 440. Car has lived in Montana it's whole life so it is super solid, has been sitting for a few years but we got it running and driving. We pulled the gas tank and cleaned it out so it runs off the tank now. The only real problem with the car is somebody punched out the ignition lock so it will need some wiring work. We have a new column to put in the car to fix it. The previous owner also converted it from lean burn to electronic ignition and some of the wiring will need to be sorted. Car still has the numbers matching engine and transmission.

- I think she's a beauty. We've seen a few of these sky blue Montana cars over the years, looks like it's actually B3 "Cadet Blue Poly."





There is a Montana Law Enforcement Museum in Philipsburg, Montana, maybe they'll buy it . They already have a 1954 Ford police package car, the very early days of such a thing. Looking through old manuals on-line the earliest option for a police car I saw was the 1950 Ford. The civilian model had 100hp and the police engine had 110hp ! This 1954 Ford had what they call the 256 which it might seem was a stroked 239, dual exhaust and a 120 speedometer, the civilian Ford speedometer only went to 100 in 1954.

I made a mistake above about the 1954 Ford civilian speedo, it goes to 110 not 100. And as mentioned the 1954 Ford police speedo goes to 120.

- The car is in the state of New York now and being offered for sale by an FCBO member. Asking price is "$5,500 or best offer."

Ex-Montana State Police Cruiser. It is a PK41 VIN with the 440 HP U code. The car is (UNMOLESTED) and is super solid. It runs and moves. Some wiring issues under the hood most likely needs a engine harness. At some point in its life the ignition switch was broken out of the column.
